I got a letter from Direct Line last week to say that they have now arrived in NI. Got a quote from their website this morning for my Chimaera and it's roughly half what I'm currently paying.

I'm paying £943 - their quote is £476!

Pity they weren't around in June when I renewed.

Yep Yep Yep Yep Yep YEP yep yep YEP HURRAH HURRAH HURRAH HURRAH HURRAHHHHHHHH.

Cheap TVR Car Insurance in N. Ireland for all, boy what great news, just go check it out all TVR's can be insured for everyday use and I was looking at 11,000 miles a year use and none came out over £900 for a years insurance.

Oh great news, now just to get the wife to let me change to that T350T ........

It gets better.

If you have 2 cars they will mirror your NCD on the 2nd policy and give you a 10% discount on the 2nd one as well.

Maybe this is the breakthrough we've been waiting for - maybe the rest of the big GB companies will start offering cover here if Direct Line are successful. Hard to see how they won't be at these prices.

I also got quotes from them for a Jag and having it in a garage as opposed to a driveway made very little difference, about £15 on an £420 quote - so that's saved me at least £50k as I'll not have to move house now!

Oh happy day!

They don’t seem to either like me or Lotus (or both), almost three times the price of the AA and they want a tracker fitted as well! £2k is a bit much on max no claims.

Direct line, privilege, Churchill, Tesco are part of the same RBS insurance group.
