Tracing a car I used to own
Discussion
I entered the registration number of an old Nova SR I bought nearly 25 years ago into a tyre suppliers database (which draws off the DVLA records). Up popped the right details - now I'm curious to now how I could confirm if the car actually exists, indeed how I could trace the current owner. I'd love that car back!
The tyre database just tells you that it once existed. ASKMID and the DVLA websites will tell you if the car is still insured or taxed. The DVLA won't give owner details unless you have a good reason, like leaving an accident and probably not to anyone off the street. Realistically it's the kind of info you can only get if you're a copper or in the insurance trade. You could try the owners websites, they're rare enough now to be a small community where somebody will know somebody who knows the owner.
