I've been tasked by SWMBO with getting a wedding car for out wedding next year. I've been given no remit or options, just get something for the day.

However, I've been to all the same wedding fairs as her, looked throughout google and yell and have come up with the same old wedding fodder. Hummers, vintage cars, unconvincing kit replicas of vintage cars and wall to wall Daimlers. Now, these to me are just dull. There is nothing interesting about them and I was hoping for something different.

I'm amazed at the lack of modern alternatives. No one is using modern Bentleys or Rolls Royces (with the exception of Galgorm resort) or even Rapides or Quattroportes. So far as I can see, the most modern cars I can find are Mercs or 300Cs which while nice, don't satisfy my lust for something a bit unusual.

Does anyone know of a company in Northern Ireland that are like this at all?

Cheers, I'll give him a bell so. Bit odd he doesn't show the Maser on his site.

Thanks again.

Can't help you as such, but I agree that the Province is lacking in "alternative wedding car" availability.I've long thought that there is an opening for someone with capital to invest.

Maybe a pink Caddy convertible, or a nice Lagonda drophead. Anything but a blinking resprayed white Silver Shadow, or one of those Beauford kit-cars that claim to be vintage cars.Hideous.

I know that Silver Shadow. It was at a classic day at Sprucefield a few weeks back with flyers on the window. Rust bubbles all over the thing.

There was some nice modern Bentleys and a Maserati there, wish I had the presence of mind to ask them at the time if they fancy a bit of work using it for a one off wedding day job.

I've been informed I'll need another car for her 4 bridemaids, which screams Daimler limo at the moment. frown

Totally agree with the Beauford cars. Awful things.

I meant to say, if you've ever watched that Gypsy Weddings prog, they seem to have access to Roller Phantoms down there in Limerick. Probably be expensive, but I would have thought they would come up North for the right price.

LOL, for me yes. The car is for the missus though and I don't think her or her grandad would be too pleased trying to get out of the back of a charger. I'm not bothering with a car as a mate said he'll just drive me there on the morning.

Thanks for the suggestion though. smile

All she's got to do is get hold of the roof, flex her back and then leap through the window feet first.Simples. Best wear a pair of Daisy Duke denim shorts, though. Ideal for weddings.
