I've just bought a Monaro smile

In my excitement though I neglected to get any insurance quotes before buying it, I'm now on the receiving end of some comical quotes. Any insurers anyone can recommend trying? Only paying about £480 on a 330d so thought it wouldn't be that much worse, best quotes are coming in over £1300 though (31 with 10+ years NCB).

Any suggestions for a suitable specialist for servicing would also be appreciated.

Cheers, Stu

I'm only a couple of years older and found Axa NI and Admiral were the cheapest around for the S2000. Axa won't look at you though if the car has been modified.

I priced round alot of places, national and local.

Good luck and nice purchase wink

How many miles a year do you plan to do? Dropping this number can help a lot. Its amazing how many people just quote for 10 or 12k without thinking and actually do a lot less.

Another vote for Campbells here.

Also try a low useage policy if its not a daily driver.

I'm starting to think running 2 cars will work out cheaper, if I limit the miles to 5k instead of the 20k I usually do I can get insurance for nearer £500 smile

Cheap snotter for the commute that will do 50mpg and I think I'll be sorted. Just itching to pick the car up now but it'll have to wait until next week.

Who are you using?
I really wanted to put the M5 away and buy a snotter for the tootling about but could not get past the no claims discount only being usable on one motor.
Would be interested to hear.
Thanks in advance

Went with Axa in the end, no snotter bought yet but I've been told they will mirror the NCB as I'll be the only driver insured on both cars.

Pick the car up on Friday, had a couple of niggles to get sorted first smile

I found DirectLine to be the cheapest, though they have crept up in recent years.. think I`ll be shopping next year!
