It is a mating ritual. There is a section of the young female population which really loves boys with these sorts of cars. Unfortunately there are many more males than females so I presume they just make do with what they got...

Has anyone been there? It's full of Vauxhall Corsa's and other awfully modified cars, it's a joke? They all drive up to a dead end car park and start beeping their horns thinking they're all cool? I'm going back there in a Bentley to show them what a REAL COOL car is. banghead
So what do you drive ?

Davy's right young drivers all have to start somewhere with a car they can afford to insure. With car insurance sky high at the minute and insurance companies refusing to insure many young drivers, these people have very little choice in what car they can drive. I'm sure most of the Corsa drivers would love to be sitting in a Ferrari 458 Italia but unfortunately you have to make the best of what you can afford.

Also if you just want to look at some rare and exotic cars I would recommend that you travel on round the coast to Portstewart sometime over the summer as there is usually some nice machinery driving about, for example today I came across a Maser Granturismo and this Merc SLS AMG lick

Corsas? Last time I was there it was full of reeky felt spec Xsaras.

Someone once told me Ballycastle has more registered sex offenders than any other small northern town.

Yes there was a hugely fat man ( no offence to him ) that was driving a Xsara, with huge clouds of black smoke coming out the back.

Went to Portstewart earlier that day, all I saw was a few C63 AMG's, the best car I saw all the time I was in Ireland!

And still he hasnt answered what he drives.....strange that ?

It's easy to mock others. But as others say people have to start somewhere. And when you're working to pay for it all yourself, such money certainly does not come easy, and car ownership these days is bloody expensive. For any car !

Sorry, I didn't see your comment! I don't drive yet as i'm only 16. Yes, let me guess, don't mock peoples cars if you don't have one yourself, blah blah blah!

I suspect the point that the OP was making was nothing to do with the driving of Corsa's etc, it was all to do with the hideous modifications which are done in the name of 'cool'....

Take a below average looking girl, doll her up like a super hot celebrity.... result.... looks like a hooker. Never going to make her look cool!

Whilst I fully agree about many of the looking crap, and the whole d-turbo/xsara etc scraping the ground totally dangerously really does baffle and amuse me.
In fact it isnt even just those nasty frenc cars. They do it to Mercs, Passats, all manner of big cars too. I laugh my head off at the occupants getting thrown about on smooth roads because there is no suspension whatsoever, despite them buying these fantastic £200 coilovers. ( and yes, they actually think they are quality at that price !!! )

But until you are actually paying to run a car yourself, it's easy to mock. When you are however doing that, mock away, and I'm sure others might do the same back lol

Doubt it, I wont put 20" rims on my corsa, or put a 5ft ariel on top of my car like some of those people, not stereotyping but most of them was ginger chavs or fat middle aged men.

Maybe you should concentrate on saving your money up towards your first car, im sure it will be something the locals will think is awesome!
Davey, my first car was better than yours, it was a chevette with castrol stripes up it,lol.
As you said, they all gotta start somewhere.

Mine was a white 205 xs, complete with sub's, cobra buckets and under car neon's! the early 90's seemed like a simpler time.
