Jason,
For help locally, speak to Jon Hogarth at S.I.D. in Great Yarmouth. He will recommend something or do it for you. Have seen his work on cars, trucks and bikes and it's awesome.

I agree, Sikaflex, you pile it up as thick as you like and then use panel wipe to smooth it off for that professional finish, damn strong stuff too, I have used it many times to stick panels on with.
There are other names Tigerseal, Bond n Seal, Technaseal, all pretty much the same stuff, dont go thinking it is silicone, it is not, this stuff dries to a hard rubber finish and cannot be removed with water, hence the need for panel wipe
Be careful with Sikaflex there 2 main types and one stays soft as it is used mainly for windscreens, I am pretty sure you will need 221

Yeh 221 is the stuff you need
Yep Sikaflex is fantastic stuff but as ive used this stuff for 20 years in the caravan industry on a daily basis i think if you smooth it off it can weaken the product. Now if you "bead" it straight from the gun it lasts for years and is easily paintable. Ill always try to bead rather than finishing with my finger and smoothng myself it is just tougher and more durable and wont peel on edges and will give you "rubber seal" look if applied correctly and your nozzle is cut perfectly on the end.221 or 512 is the correct one to use for automobiles. 512 is more plyable and sets skins faster.
Here it is;
