guys,

Got two new tyres to fit to the rear of the Merc. Need to find someone to fit them who won't take chunks out of the soft polished metal edges of the rims.

Anyone got any recommendations as I need to do this before the end of the weekfrown

Location?

I trust my local place with freshly powdercoated rims and they scuff damage real easy

Autofit in Ipswich have some whizzy machine that they bought for this type of thing; they did a great job on my old Lambo. Probably a little far for you though I expect unless you fancy a run out.

biggrin indeed and I have loved losing every inch of the old rubber....bounce

Trying ContiSport5's on the rear now from the old ContiSport3's....apparently they are far superior...

Rear wheel steering is great fun..driving

Going to go to Robinson VW as they have the gear to prevent damaging my rim (oh err missus wink) but they want £48 to replace two wheels with tyres I have bought elsewhere...frown

A mate of mine bought a gun metal grey one the other day. You'll probably see it on your travels as he's only up the road in Wicklewood. I went for a spin, lovely car, quiet as a Bentley after sitting in my Boy Racer's Dream Mobile! You might as well bite the bullet and get Robbos to do the tyres, it grates but at least you can have a scream up if there's a problem. Are you aware of the lads at Auto-Technic at Loddon for servicing? Good people.

Wouldn't get your hopes up too much! Friend of mine has a set on his c63 and they're not doing much better apparently.

Hello Kev! Just had ATS fit 4 x Falken FK452 tyres to my MB S320CDi with polished AMG wheels. The technician did a superb job, taking great care of the wheels and inflating the new tyres with Nitrogen.

Guilt by association eh? Fair enough, I hate recommending anyone for anything to be honest, as I always feel the burden of responsibility for if they are not perfect! I have been told by a fussy friend they are very good though and it's where mine will go when I can be without my car for a few days. driving
