Hi,
Although, as some of you know, my Metro is a good track tool but i have been thinking about somethiong else for a while and had decided that rwd and sequential box would be handy for the new twisty Snetterton circuit and Cadwell park. Seb was thinking about spending another large chunk of money on his Saxo which would have made it more capable but not cost effective. We get on well and are of similar build, so i suggested a joint car as i could not justify another sole ownership car in my stable. He was up for it so we got this.
Another mate, yes i have another lol, helped pick it up on the towing dolly we have just invested in.
It is a formula 27, a respected 7esque car with inboard front shocks. It had it's heavy Ford OHC engine taken out some years ago anf that was replaced with a fireblade engine.
It is only around 130bhp being the early 893cc engine, but weighs around 500kg so a pretty good power/weight. The previous owner had been using it for sprinting and spent alot of time getting the handling sorted. I thought the handling was more important than power when trying this new type of car as it will drive differently from my normal cars.
I want to do a little work in other areas so it will not see the track for a while. I cannot wait to give it a go though. It sounds great, but needs silencer rework to comfortably meet track noise regulations. I know a man who can sort it lol.

Blimey! The rest of us will have no chance once you've finished fettling that!
Unless you keep it on that dolly which looks about as stable as a wheel barrow!
Yes it was the first time we had used the dolly. A bit brave doing nearly 100 miles to try it out. It was ok though.Unless you keep it on that dolly which looks about as stable as a wheel barrow!

Only if you floor it
Yes, that's true!Infact a chap in a '7' said to me that if you go for V-max every time you go down the main runway, it's like thowing a fiver out of the window (at 2010 prices!).
I agreed, however, as we were both buying our second tank of fuel for the day, out sincerity might be questionable.

not to mention you cannot keep proper heat in your tyres that straight is far to long. I had to wait untill late afternoon when the sun came out to get any sort of heat into my tyres let alone any gripEddy
[quote=browny,s blower]Hi you will be flat out 500yards on to any straight as i was when i took my b6tiger (900cc bike engined toy)ps A well set up car will have no problem keeping tyres hot kev

Nice the b6's.
It is currently geared for sprints so is flat out at around 100mph. We are going to change the diff to bring the top speed up to 120ish which should be enough.
