v8 wont idle

hi having problem with my 4.6 v8 it will not idle its fine when revs are up soon as i take foot off it wants ti cut out or sometines itwill tick over and the revs keep dropping down then back up , i have put a new stepper moter in it still the same , does anyone know what i could try or know someone near yarmouth i could take it to , cheers steve

Sounds like classic symptoms of a sticky idle control valve on the inlet.

Has it got one?

If so take it off and clean it with carb cleaner or similar.
