Anyone beat that?

I'm supposed to be heading up the M1 to Hinckley this morning, but I might not even bother.

Does salt still work in these temps?

What are the roads like near you at the moment? Heading over that way in a bit, so I need to figure out how much extra time to allow!

If your talking about Norwich, the main roads are fine, but the side roads are like ice rinks!

Norwich is close enough, I'm heading for near Attleborough. 150 miles in the snow... just what I didn't want!

-11C at Manningtree station this morning - slithered all the way to the station, only to find that my train had more than half of its doors frozen shut. The train guard reckoned that it was going to get cancelled at Colchester on safety grounds... I gave up and slithered home again.

Fortunately my boss didn't make it in from north of Colchester - his car reported -12!

It's a balmy -5 outside now - I think I'll get the deckchairs out... might not bother with the speedos though... redface

-10 in Chelmsford according to my car, though there wasn't much wind so it didn't feel too bad. Suns out now and it's a toasty -6.

Had -12 indicating in my car on the way to work this morning at Barking near Needham Market. By the time I got into work it was mere -7 indicated, then by the time I got home to Needham at just after 5pm it was already -6!

I was in bed cloud9

Ventured into Colchester this pm for some last minute presents and it was 28F so only about -3 in new money. (Actually I use F above freezing and C below but can't be bothered to alter the display)

Get yourself over to the Thetford/Brandon area in the morning and hang around the forest, you'll see loads of mushers out practising with their dogs.
Try to avoid 2 mile bottom though, that has a reputation for different sorts of activities named after dogs! biggrin

Eccles , your a top dog, good man. I have also read up that whiskey freezes at -17 so I shall tuck a bottle in an old woolly sock for insulation during my journey, could I get done for drinking while mushing biggrin
