That's right, I'm doing another one! biggrin

This time with focused events it's nearly full but there's still spaces left and it's only £89.

This really is one of the last chances to enjoy the current Snetterton so get your name down!

I'd especially like to see Eddy and Darren battle it out between the RS4 and Metro hehe

I'm really interested and free on the day.

Having never done of these before, what exactly is involved ? Other than turning up and having fun ?

Just kidding mate. I know what you mean about the money, I'm not exactly flush myself, but I'm an addict and couldn't resist biggrin

It's open pit lane, so you turn up in the morning and then go on and off the track as you please throughout the day.

I'm no expert, but the biggest problem I see people having is brake fade, so I'd recommend fitting performance front pads and changing your brake fluid.

Other than that just make sure everything is in good order, i.e. check all your fluids are topped up properly and that your tyres are all in good condition and properly inflated, etc, etc and you should be fine smile

Take somebody with you to help who has done it before. Tyres, brakes need most attention plus take enough fuel for the day!!!.

Take plenty of water to drink not Red Bull etc as there have been problems on tracks after people have drunk it.

Darren, you really are a very naughty boy !!!!

I have never drunk Red Bull etc as I have seen what it does to people. Now white wine is a different matter but I NEVER drink and drive.

Is the crash helmet something that can be rented on the day?

As for brakes, I don't have an option of getting anything fitted, so might have to sit out a bit more maybe.

Can you get more fuel there or will turning up with a nearly full tank be sufficient?

Re helmet hire check with the TDO.

Re fuel, it depends on how you drive your car. There is fuel at the circuit but it is more expensive than a petrol station. There is a fuel station a couple of miles outside the circuit.

Nice track day preparation guide here
http://www.driving-days.co.uk/track-day-preparatio...

As for fuel it depends on your car and how many laps you do. My neighbour went on Saturday in his Fiesta ST and used a whole tank. However I've been with some Subaru guys who filled up three times in one day!!

In June I did a track day at Snett with my OH. We arrived with a full tank and spent £120 on fuel during the day, some was bought at the circuit and some from the local petrol station during the lunch break. I then had to drive slowly to Diss to fill up to get me home.

Thanks for the tips. I have an exam to attend to in London on Wednesday. Will try and sort this out after that if I can. Otherwise, I'll just have to pop round to the next one.

Would it be possible to turn up and maybe get some passenger rides from people attending so I can get an idea of what I should prepare for ?

Seems like I might not be able to get everything together before Saturday.

If you want to pax you do normally need to pay and you will need to get a wrist band. It is always wise to watch the the driving standard of the car you want to pax in. Some people do not like to do pax laps, if they do refuse do not be offended.
