As the title suggests, can anyone recommend anywhere where I can get some good quality well seasoned wood for my burner for this year. I've just had it fitted so I have to resign myself to buying it. frown

All help appreciated.

Cheers

You are a bit too late!

I'm in the process of conerting my loft and have gave away at least 25 nice fires with off cuts of timber!

There is a guy on Woodside Road (Norwich) who has a sign up in his front lawn selling seasoned timber!

When I costed wood burning against coal I found wood prices uncompetitive. Be interested to hear how you get on and sorry I didn't keep my wood supplier contacts.

I know a pal who does solid fuel in Lowestoft area.

Would that be any good?

I've just converted my loft too... Some of the wood that was left over has gone into the burner and some has gone towards my nice new wood store on the side of the house...

I've just got to fill it now! Although, I did speak to a bloke today who does 4m3 for £140, seems quite reasonable to me.

I've used them once, you don't get a lot for your money, they do give you a loyalty card and each load you get a stamp until you have earnt a free load or discount, best place for cheap logs is farmers, they will practically give it away or at least you'll get a lot more for your money, other option is to get yourself a chainsaw so you can offer to clear fallen tree's, you get very warm getting the wood, and it keeps you warm when you burn it too!
