Yep the Bay window has reached that stage where I really must get someone to do something about its rust e.g. new outer sills and sundry other rust hole repairs. All on visible bodywork. Also a crease in the door. Anyone got good experience of somewhere in East Anglia for this kind of work? cheers

There is a VW place just as you enter Hingham on the left hand side (coming from Norwich!) I've heard he is expensive though!

I'll try and find out about another garage in Coltishall. My mate (feckin great mechanic) has just took over running a garage there, but I don't know if they do welding etc.

Like I said I'll find out and re post!

I'd appreciate that. It's useful having a mechanic mate isn't it? I have one too, but having restored his own Bay over 2 years in his spare time, and then seeing it go up in flames along with all his camping stuff & bikes, he understandably doesn't really want to do another.

I used Wooleys at Hingham for mechanical work; they did a little MOT welding (good quality) but apart from that no bodywork. I'd certainly recommend them; especially on T25s which are a quite a bit more difficult to maintain. He had a rather nice Karman they were restoring and that looked excellent.

For paintwork on my I used A & C Autos in Burnt Fen (Suffolk, 01353-375240) in the next village to me. Their work was very good and they weren't expensive.

Or give NickInTheBarn a call. He is based half way between Norwich and Bungay. He has restored many VW beetles, busses and campers, and is also very handy with paint. Not silly prices either.
