Norwich Midweek

Don't get your hopes up too much...
At the top of tombland there is Beluga which caters to a lsightly older crowd, small dance floor, good music and fairly smart. The barstaff are just about the slowest surliest lot I've ever encountered though.
Over the road is Ha-Ha's, just a bar this time but its one of the few places in Norwich that turns out a half decent drink.
Karma Kafe down by Jarrolds is ok but they got rid of a lot of seating recently for some reason and its not as relaxed as it was.
If you must venture down prince of wales road you'd probably find Optic most to your liking.

Tombland is pleasent for sitting and chilling - Beluga, a place formerly called Indugle (now called Knowing, or Unknown or something), Ha Ha Bar, Edith Cavell Pub and there's also a place opposite the Slug and Lettuce (I forget what it's called, as it's only just changed it's name from Orgasmic). On the corner of Tombland (Upper King St.) and Prince of Wales Rd is Office. It's affiliate club, Optic, is on Prince of Wales Road and is good for a "better" crowd (rap and r'n'b is downstairs).
Better still is the former Fastso's restaurant, now a bar/club called Essence. It's towards to the bottom end of PoWR, and is one of the better palces in that area.
Younger crowd still go to Mercy. Much older crowd at Chicagos, and Love to Love above this. I would avoid the Prince of Wales Pub, as it's a chavvy dive.
Whereabouts in the city centre will you be staying? I could send you some directions if you PM me.

Orgasmic is now a vodka revolution. Unknown was Bar Noir for a while I think? Can't say I could reccomend it!You should go to a place called Pulse. The view is nice upstairs.
Seriously, the clubs aren't much to write home about in Norwich. Optic is the only place on Prince of Wales Rd that's bearable. The bars on Tombland are OK, but not clubs as such.
Karma Kafe is open virtually all night. Bedfords (on Bedford St) has a nice bar upstairs, but isn't open that late, and isn't a club.
Decent pubs are Norwich's strong point really. The Coach and Horses on Thorpe Rd is our usual haunt, and should be open 'til 12 on a Thursday.
