I am looking to stay away from home 1 night next week for our anniversary and as usual left it late to arrange !

Anybody make a reccomendation, Im looking at Dunstonhall, is that as good as it gets in our area or it there better, needs to be romantic, great location, amazing rooms etc.

thanks all

Good choice... the DeVere hotels are generally very nice! The Bedford Lodge in Newmarket is also nice, great restaurant and lovely spa! http://www.bedfordlodgehotel.co.uk/

And another vote here, Dunston is ok but a bit main stream, the Hoste is a bit more intimate, you may have trouble getting a room now though.

If you're really in trouble, you could try a weekend away at a Landmark Trust property - I've been to this particular one twice:

http://bookings.landmarktrust.org.uk/BuildingDetai...

They usually have a list of late availability on the home page.

Thats a great site, some of the properties look amazing, Im only looking at one night but have added site to my favorites for future away stays, shame each property does not show more photos

If you want a posh B&B, Incleborough House in East Runton is really nice http://www.incleboroughhouse.co.uk/

They also do single nights

You have to buy the book to get more photos (about £10 IIRC) I have an old copy somewhere if you want me to scan some pages.

Thanks for that, as it wont be a stay this time I wont put you to the trouble but in the future I will be sure to shout, Think its going to have to be Dunston Hall as the helicopter can land there smile , it has some terrible reviews which I have spoken to the manager and managed to get a top room at a discounted price so hopefully with the pre advise its for a special occasion it will all go well and we wont be disapointed.

Well, you certainly won't be getting bad service landing in a helicopter.

I was at Dunston Hall last month and it is looking rough. The chairs in the terrace bar are really dirty.
