Hi,

Newbee to the site, I drive a modified Volvo V70 T5 and I am based in Newmarket.

That's mine at a track day at Castle Combe a few months back.

Anyway, enough of the intro, I tend to buy tyres online from the likes of camskill etc, but I am finding it very difficult to find a tyre fitter that will fit them to my alloys, as all of the ones that I have found only fit tyres that they supply themselves. Can anyone recommend one as close to Newmarket as possible? Will travel to Cambridge or Bury St Edmunds if there's a good one in those parts.

I've always found Bury tyre centre brilliant. They've swapped tyres around, fitted my own to rims (both road and race), and seem to know when to take care with nice alloys.

I'll second the shout for Tollgate, know most of them through the car club and all very decent blokes. Best place for mot's too.

+1 for these guys aswell. They turned out to be cheaper than some of the online places.

eTyres supply and have a mobile fitting service, I'm sure the other online suppliers do have local fitters.

Tyres - Tread First (ex Hardwick Tyres) BStE, I wouldn't use Tollgate again, they damaged my alloy!

M.O.T. - Hillside Service Centre, BStE. A totally honest and decent outfit, Danny is da' man.

Olympic Tyres in Soham are pretty good, I think they would fit tyres you supply, though I've only ever bought tyres from them as they're pretty competitive on price and I can't be faffing with carring the spares around.

I saw your Volvo while running down Fordham road.

That's it, not very interesting.
