That Biker look familiar.
If it is who I think it is I'll ask him. It appears to be dual carridgeway section just past Marham before the Swafham bypass. The A47 is one of the most dangerous roads in the country at the moment and if you dare drive past Peterborough take the A141 at Guyhern, the A605 and the A1M back north to the A43 avoiding the A47 Peterborough bypass completely. The eight miles or so between the A43 and A15 roundabouts there have had more accidents in the last twelve months than the rest of Cambridgeshire put together.

Strange thing is some of the cars not involved in the accident are facing in the opposite direction!
As Kev says straight bit of raod with good visibilty as you are going down hill to the Trouse turn off!

I drove past an hour or so after the accident. Other members of my family where stuck in the tailback about 1km behind the accident.
The accident involved several cars and a lorry, which I believe strayed across into the fast lane unexpectedly. I'm not 100% on that however, as I've only heard it from one person.
As we passed, the air ambulance was parked on the carriageway, as well as lots of other emergency service vehicles which my mother tells me where travelling between the lanes of stationary traffic to the accident 'at 100mph'.
I think the traffic situation was somewhat neglected due to the severity of the accident, and it took the police a long time to start turning cars around to send them back down the A140 sliproad (hence some facing the wrong way in the EDP picture. Also note the curtain put up by the ambulance crews). My family where stopped for well over 2 hrs. Most people where out of there cars, some seeking shade under the Stoke Holy Cross bridge (it was 30+c).
Thoughtless though it may sound, I was surprised to hear only one person was killed. From the damage to the number of cars involved, and the presence of so many emergency services, I expected worse. Some very lucky people, and unfortunately one not so lucky. My condolences to all those suffering.
