Ok here we go for another year. This event is to provide the families at Honington and forces personnel a fun day and a brief break from worrying about thier loved ones serving in the war theatres. In past years the contribution provided by our cars turing up has been very much appreciated. So I would like to provide another fine turn out this year.

It is a Thursday and only from 12pm to approx 4pm so not much time to give up and raising a few quid for various charities including RAF Benevolent fund, Help for Heroes, Air Ambulance.

So please put yourself forward, cajole the boss in to giving you afternoon off and help make it a great turn out.

Now this year I am also going for a possible runway blast at the end of the day after 4pm. I have tried in vain to get this in past years but looking better this year. But at this stage nothing certain. But to have a chance to play you need to be here on the day. (and raffle for Lotus track session)

I attended the planning meeting at Honington this week and here is a list of whats planned so far:

Apache helicopter display (static and flying)
Air Sea rescue helicopter display (static and flying)
Suffolk Air ambulance (static and flying if called out)
Various armed Military vehicles
Parachute dispay by Red Devils or II Squadron RAF Regt
Beer and Burger tents at cheap prices!
Birds of prey
Charity stalls selling cakes, books etc
Display areana with various shows
Fire, Police and Ambulance displays
Glider and flying Club displays
Raffles with chance to win track Day at Lotus and Flying lessons
These and more being panned at the moment

I will arrange meeting points and times later on when we get a list of names.

Simmo would you mind putting a sticky on this one please?

Hi I would love to attend this event. Very worth while cause one which I hold close to my heart.
I have never attended a show like this before. What would I need to do for it?

Is my car special enough for it though? Pic attached 6Ltr V8 Monaro.

some changes have been made since this picture was taken.
Now badged back to HSV (Holden Special Vehicles), How they come in Australia.
Different Personal number plate.

cheers for the welcome.

is it worth starting a topic on some of the car makes forums?
Kind of put a call out to some really nice car types. Along the lines of 'Help for Heroes, cars wanted'
Put the same text that is on the original post and see what comes back.

I would imagine a few people from this region would be up for it. Plus you could get a really broad mix of cars showing up.... Mustangs, ferrari, lambos, TVRs, Aston Martin, Noble etc etc.
(they can't come if they are not asked)

Just a thought, as I only came across this thread by chance while looking in the anglia forum. Most people just stick to their 'home' forums.

Excuse me if anyone thinks i'm getting a bit too full on. Please don't flame me down, I don't want to come across as being a pain in the backside. It was just an idea while driving home from work and saw a really nice AC Cobra and I thought it would make a nice addition to the event.
