Lovely photos.
Interesting parking spot, don't you think MarkCSC?
Hmmmmm, R&J could you let me have the details of the organisers? Maybe I could find out who could give us permission to park there next year Interesting parking spot, don't you think MarkCSC?
Thanks
Mark
The old building in the pics is the Town Hall and there are often car shows on the greens

never noticed the heated windscreen till just now...must have been useful on the Monte!
Notice as well that the indicators are moved up, and out a little. The original hole for them has a plug for the spot lights fitted. (another 'works mod).Edited by Pothole on Wednesday 21st April 21:38
A quick Google of the Number plate came up with this
1963 Mini Cooper "S" rally car.
275 YYB
1963/65. Run by Geoff Mabbs on International events.
1965/67. Exeter Motor Club member, National events.
1967/70's. Yorkshire rally driver/mechanic on Club events.
Note the following special features of this very original car.
Lighting for 1963 but dip lamps moved to bonnet in 1965.
Rally plate rivet holes in bonnet/boot.
1963/4 Headlamp washers & perspex protectors.
1963. Lucas demister strips to windscreen.
1963/4. Perspex deflector panel.
1967. Triplex heated windscreen.
1967. Aley roll cage 1968, intercom to helmets.
Seats, drivers Microcell bucket, navigator Microcell recliner with headrest. It must be remembered that rallies in those days could last five days and four nights with no official rest time.
Front grille cut in half and quick released to enable engine access. Quick lift brackets front & rear.
Perspex side and rear windows to save weight. Battery relocated on back seat after Geoff Mabbs's car was burnt out on the '62 Monte when it struck a rock and the petrol tank pushed across the battery causing a dead short. The car still has it's original 28 amp/hour dynamo. A superb original car now owned by Richard Ashley.
