Hi all
First topic started here so here we go..
Why do people believe that they can drive through floods even when the water is up and over their bonnets
I spent all day towing people out with my Land Rover despite telling them they would not get through
anyway it was a nice little earner

According to local news today, and citing the fire brigade, we're not supposed to drive across a flooded road at all. There might be a big log in it, and you might get stuck and even drown.
So if you see a stretch of water across the road, even if it's only an inch deep, stop, put your hazards on and and dial 999.

You are joking? If thats the case we ain't going anywhere for the foreseeable future. And yesterday what a joke that was.So if you see a stretch of water across the road, even if it's only an inch deep, stop, put your hazards on and and dial 999.

I cannot see any warning about phoning the Police and if I did I can see being fined for wasting time.Look at those 'stupid' people driving into water. Oh my God, just look at them.
Typical BBC reporting, that patronising ...'They are all going to die' attitude.
That BBC clip is ridiculous. 'look at these people. doing exactly what some numpty in a fire hat told them not to'. Um, it's 3 inches deep and pretty unlikely there's a fallen tree in there. I love the emphasis on in being 'flood water' too, as if it's toxic and not a bit like a normal rainwater puddle.
Does the ford he was stood at have a depth gauge? If so then people deserve to get washed away if they try to go through 4ft of water in an ordinary car! If not, then why not?
