Cars On the Green returns for another year, raising money for charity and bringing together some of the best cars in the region for a great family day out. Held for it's third year at New Green, Thurston, Suffolk.

Due to increased running costs we will be charging an exhibitors fee of £1 payable at the gate, however all exhibitors will be entered into a prize draw to win £100

Saturday night camping available for £10 per car

It is still free just to visit.

If you book a ticket on here you are guaranteed a space!!!!! Bookings taken online for both clubs and individuals.

This year we will also be holding an auto jumble and trade area so book yourself a pitch to sell you unwanted parts or bring your money and pick up some bargains.

Trade pitches still available, contact organisers to discuss.

I would like to go this year. Just need to decide whether to have a nice day out showing a car or have all the hard work of a trade stand on my only day off of the week!

Looking forward to seeing you all there anyway

Nah you'll be ok, we've got EAPC having a stand of 30-35 vehicles and they always bring some nice vintage stuff with them. biggrin

Update.

this is the email I sent out to everyone who has booked online. I know we have had the pistonheads booking made by 1 person for the club so thought I'd stick it up for the rest of you.

"Hello from the Bury Retro Ford team.

This is a reminder that Cars on the Green is now just 4 weeks away. We already have over 250 cars booked online which means we should easily beat our 350 car attendance last year.

This year all profits are being donated to St Nicholas Hospice and The Bury St Edmunds M.S Trust.

There will be 9 sponsored trophies this year which are

Best retro ford: Tollgate tyres
Best paintwork: Motorspares
Best custom car: Carrera
Best post 70's: M.W Nice fencing supplies
Best non-Ford: C+N autodismantlers
“love me as I am”: Culford waste
Best club stand: Hoseflex
Best pre 70's: Thetford auto parts
Best individual entry: B+A vehicle services and Body plastics

We are currently working on improving the field layout to try and make things run as smoothly as possible getting everyone in and out. This year we have moved the visitor parking to just down the road, allowing more exhibitor space on the green.

The show doesn’t officially open to visitors till 11am but we expect clubs/individuals to be arriving from about 9am to set up and people will be on hand to direct you to your pitches.

Also in attendance this year are the following traders, though there is still time for anyone else who is interested in a pitch to contact us.

MotorSpares-Discount car parts and accessories

West Suffolk College-Training and courses in Automotive Maintainence and Repair.

Sublimation Online-Printing photos of your vehicle on a range of merchandise

Lea Atkins-Specialist in Mkii escort parts

rsescorts.co.uk-Specialist in remanufactured mk1 escort parts

GLC Tuning-Tuning Bespoke ECU Remapping & Software Development

Suffolk Flocking Services-Premier flocking service for dashes and interior components

Oldcarmags- Old car magazines, period road tests and classic posters

We intend to send another message to you in the week before the show to fill you in on the final field layout and entry system. Also we will want to confirm club stand numbers, so you all have enough room. Any questions please feel free to contact us.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Thanks
