Hi Guys,

happy Christmas,

I love living on Pottergate in the centre of Norwich except for being fed-up with car getting vandalised. Over the years I've had cars stood on, keyed, lights smashed, wheel centres nicked etc, etc.

It is spoiling my enjoyment of the Boxster as I rarely use it - once I've got a space on a side street with few passers by I leave it there and drive partner's Yarris instead. Also I worry about it and thos detracts from my enjoyment.

I do own a garage but that is full of my Midget competition car and the bike. We were going to move so I wasn't worried but er have now decided to stay for at least a year so I need a new solution.

Its got so bad I'm thinking of selling the Boxster.

I need somewhere secure and preferably covered that I can access when ever I want and isn't too far (I live close to Micawbers).

An alternative would be to put the Boxster in the garage at home and find a lock-up for the Midget as I don't use it very regularly.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Chris,

Have you got any idea of what budget you have or were you looking for a freebie?

Might have a couple of places I can ask....one is quite close to you but would probably be better for the Midget due to not having 24 hour access.

Hi Kev,

Thanks for the reply.

I'd happily pay something but I've no idea what going rate is. £40 per month? Is that reasonable or taking the piss?

Midget is used on weekends and often returns very late, which may complicate things.

Cheers

Chris

I have no idea how much it costs, but I'm sure I read somewhere the St Andrew's multi-storey would offer some kind of yearly offer.
It's 24hr, too.

I've also found these two lock-ups for rent on Rightmove:
LOCK UP ONE
LOCK UP TWO

Thanks Darren,

will look into all of those. Wymer looks especially handy. Will investigate St Andrew's too.

Thanks

Quite a few spaces going in the new riverside developments. Gum tree lists a few list time i looked. Prices vary hugely £50-100 a month.

Theres a few tastey bits of kit in my blocks garage, no problems to report!

Darren, what search criteria did you use on Rightmove?

Thanks

In Rent Section, I had the following:

Location: Norwich
Radius: This Area Only
Property Type: Land
Beds: No Min to No Max
Price: No Min to No Max
Added: Anytime

I also checked the box to include "Let Agreed" properties.

They were the only garages listed though.

I'm pretty sure Property Finder and Primelocation have similar search capabilities, too smile

You still have yours James? Still remember your look as you passed me on the Marham straight in my FN2.

I would agree with St. Andrews multi story too. It's a very secure car park with guards patrolling 24 hours a day with CCTV cameras everywhere! ONLY place i have ever parked my car & felt secure in the knowledge that it wont have come to any harm!

Only problem with St Andrews is that the season ticket does not give you your own space just access and on a weekend afternoon getting back in is an arse. They do corporate bays but they are much more.
