Anyone been?

I'm off there on Saturday, taking the missus, hoping it's nice, also, any other recommendations on nice places within 20 miles of Lowestoft?

no, but I am taking her in an equally unreliable vessel

besides, I sincerely doubt the ferry is operating, but would have been a nice touch I grant you.

It always gets good write ups in the local magazines.

Seckford Hall, Woodbridge is very nice and good value.

Donot forget Chris and Sarah Mapey at The Angel, Woodbridge as they are now doing food.

What about Satis House at Yoxford.

I got married there this summer and couldn't fault the food or hospitality

Have been there before, and yes it is nice.

I'm always keen to try somewhere different though, hence i'm off to Wabbleswick.

Woodbridge is a bit too far really, that's an hours drive, and at the end of an evening, I want to be getting the wife back before the alcohol wears off wink

there is an italian i've heard good things about near Bungay called The Olive Tree & there is The Lavender House at brundall or Richard Hughes also owns Anna Sewells House in yarmouth (those two DEFINITELY need booking in advance though)

The Olive Tree at Ellingham is nice, i'd recommend it, and the Lavender House is probably the best meal i've had this side of the Atlantic, i've not ventured in the Michelin star studded eateries of our nations capital so expect there may be better, in which case they'd be sublime.

Anna Sewells house I thought had closed?
