Hi all. I'm newly arrived from the US. Driving a very nice 03 BMW Z4 3.0 w/sports package. I can't wait to meet up with ya'll at various events, cruises and track days. I'm hoping to find a good independent mechanic some where around the Bury St Edmond's area or Newmarket area, so if anyone has some good tips that I haven't found via searching this forum I'd appreciate it. I have seen several posts that recommend danjac racing though they aren't that close to me.
At any rate, wanted to introduce myself and get my foot in the door, look forward to meeting up with everyone.

Hello

Welcome to the UK and to Pistonheads. smile

If you want a good introduction to the group come on the Autumn run on the 18th of October http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...

I take it you are in Mildnehall or Lakenheath? I'm just up the road at Red Lodge.

Hi Matt; for the mechanics I'd recommend Jason and Vince who run Scole Engineering and look after several of the member's cars very well.

Various events are organised throughout the year although most are now over. However, when a new one is announced it's 'stickied' at the top of the forum so all you need to do is check every few days and you won't miss anything.

Welcome the the UK and I'm sorry about the weather and Gordon Brown - we can at least change one of them!

Thanks for the replies. I am at Lakenheath. I'll actually be staying not too far from Bury St Edmonds.
I intend on attending the Autumn run now that I know my car should get here by the middle of next week.
Where would the best place be to meet up? I have sat-nav so it's not a big deal and I'm not opposed to driving several hours a day either.

Hello

It would probably be best to join the Cambridge group, but if you want I can meet you at the Red Lodge cafe and we can drive down together?

Welcome, and do keep a look out for the next track weekend at RAF Marham, probably around April time. Best event of its type going for miles around!
