Come one; come all; to PistonHeads' first year attending the Norfolk Gala Day!

This show used to be known as the Police Gala Day, but this year the police pulled out. However, it is still be held at the Norfolk Show Ground on Sunday 6th September.
The day is open to the public from 10am until 6pm.

Quoting from the organiser, the Gala has a wealth of attractions including:

  • An action packed main ring, with nationally renowned acts and local show favourites including the Raptor Trust.
  • A full village green programme of local dance groups, bands and children’s entertainment.
  • A wide range of trade charity stands and sideshows,
  • A comprehensive collection of military vehicles.
  • The largest collection of classic vehicles in the East of England.
  • The Norfolk Gala ‘Old Car Rally’, which as the Radio ‘Norfolk Old Car Rally’, last year attracted over 500 vehicles over 25 years old
  • The Eastern Transport Collection of vintage buses.
  • A large Craft fair with over 40 craft stalls/exhibitors.
  • A funfair
Because the Gala Day lost it's financial backing last year, there is a £5 entry fee for all of us who wish to attend with our cars. This fee includes entry for ALL the occupants of the car. This is payable before the event.
So if you would like to come along, please let me know on here or email me.
I'll then send you my address to which you can send me payment smile

I will be booking a stand of 12 places with the organiser, so be quick to avoid disappointment biggrin

YES, the info says 'Car exibitors MUST be in position by 10.00am. Cars arriving after 10.00am will be directed to alternative off-site parking'.

Looks like an early rise on this Sunday then, its OK for you lot tho with your high performance, me? I've gotta leave home at about 5.30am yikes

I'd love to attend, as I went a couple of years ago and it was a very good day, however, i'm off to North Norfolk camping with friends so can't make it.

Have fun people.

***MEETING POINT AND TIMES FOR SUNDAY***

Righty guys, it's about time I put up a meeting point so you can all have your passes.

To avoid disappointment, I suggest we meet at 9:00am in the Travelodge Car Park at Thickthorn, south of Norwich. MAP LINKY HERE
We'll depart at 9:15, sharp so we can line up with the suspected queue!

See you all on Sunday!

Darren

Edited to change times, bearing in mind what TR said!

You'll want to be there earlier than that mate...

If you get stuck in a queue you'll never get in before 10. I will, as i just go through the traffic tongue out... In all honesty though, they have 0% tolerance on getting into the show ground. At 10am the gates will shut. Dads lotus club had 6 people turned away who were queue-ing from 9.20.

Just a thought.
