furiousHelp!!!I expect a lot of reaction from
this!!I took delivery of my nice new red G T R.five weeks ago,im in debt now for 5 years!,.This is nothing after finding the paint as soft as shi*.I cannot believe the "rain spots"I have them all over, they seem almost like craters in the
paint. That and a dent in the rear quarter roof panel. What happened to P.D.I!!I have of course been back to the dealer, who said it can be "buffed out"."I dont believe it"!The other problem is the paint is lifting on the front spoiler near the headlamp, this seems to be a common problem that was posted on the Canadian G T R WEB SITE.All I want to say is how many G T R s are like this.Nissan should be ashamed,of this, so called "hand built"car.I suspect some corner cutting has been done.I will post my expected reply from Nissan "if ever"P J T

You cant expect that level of performance and for it to be built like a rolls royce for £60K!

But really if you've had it for 5 weeks before complaining then theres very little you can do about it.

A photo of "your" car would make a nice change from one that you've found through Google too wink

Try and take a picture of the problems and post on here or DW for help.

You need to take CLEAR pictures and up load to hosting site (Photobucket etc)

From the picture looks like you have a perfect car ....

Hi Paul..

You may be better of nipping over to the GTR owners forum and clearly detailing your problems etc - the guys there will be sure to help out/share experiences wink

http://www.gtr.co.uk/index.html

I know there has been some differing levels of service from the various nominated HPC looking after the GTR but have to say my experience to date has been excellent and in a lot of ways better than that I received from the normal presitige dealers.

Out of interest was your car professionally detailed at delivery? Had my Ultimate Silver (supposedly the softest of the paint finishes) detailed prior to collection and other than a bloodly stone chip the paint finish is still excellent. I know the paint lifting around the light area has been reported before by our cousins in the States but don't think any of the UK lads have reported this one yet.....should be a simple warranty claim/fix though. Water spots can be a nightmare if certain paints aren't treated properly - really suggest you get a proper 'detail' on the car. Can thorughly recommend the guy that did mine - here's the write-up on my detail:

http://www.ultimate-detail.co.uk/GTR35/index_Aris....

Hopefully now you've got the rant of your chest you can work through the problems and start to enjoy the car.......if you ever want to meet up for a blast then drop me a line. Plenty of PHEA events to attend to as well!

HTH, Simon

hi thanks for witty replies.Latest news so far.Have sent details to Nissan uk,am awaiting reply.HOWEVER after using a bit of elbow grease, have managed to remove 90% of the damage!.Have had a word with local bodyshop they informed me that most of the so called "fisheyes"were probably from water during transit.(acid rain in japan!!)?.
Anyhow, have tried Zymol cleaner/polish.After a second, rather heavier handed approach, seems to be working. It has encouraged me to go for a "detail," will look that one up, one of you mentioned.Yes that was me in Sheringham. The car looks ok from a distance!!.Ref the (should have noticed it before). The garage(Marshalls)are aware of the dent in the rear quarter panel. They said it would be difficult to prove when it happened! I reported all the problems within a week. They offered to "buff" the paintwork, which I am not keen on.My opinion is the panel was damaged before it was installed on the car.Do cars have P.D.I.CHECKS anymore?.Also are they checked at the docks? The lifting of paint near headlamp..Will post a proper photo in the next few days.By the way it does seem a little faster now its fully run in!.My previous car was,Jaguar S TYPE R.Has anybody found out the price of the tires¬!!I have had to replace rear tire, after puncture£558.00!!!.Jaguar offer tyre insurance.!!driving

Yes but compared to the turbo and gt3rs going round it was using them in maybe half the time.

Are you sure it's not the wax?

Poor quality waxes will cloud up when it rains and then clear when it dries.
