It looks like I have a binding caliper, so am looking to buy a replacement. Am not a big fan of Renault dealerships (particularly Wests of Cambridge!!!) - so wonder if anyone can recommend a an alternative in Cambs?

Cheers

Would it not be cheaper to rebuild it?

Eurocarparts in Bury St Eds should have the bits you need.

Wereham Dismantlers just off the A134 pass Ely on the A10 and the Ship pub, go through Southery, past British Sugar and turn right at the A134 roundabout, then they're on the right hand side of the road just as you reach the village. You can't miss it.

You will however be in Norfolk so take your Passport and make sure you wear clean underwear just in case.

Many thanks for all your responses. It is cheaper (£45 plus p&p) to rebuild compared to new (£98) but it's a hassle. EuroCarParts don't sell my caliper (Clio 182) which is a shame. I will try the Norfolk dismantlers (and remember to take my passport!!). Otherwise, I'll probably take the plunge and by from my least favourite dealership...
Thanks again

Dunno if you'll get a caliper for a 182 from the breakers, but from memory when I had mine it was the same caliper as on the faster Laguna and maybe also the Espace, so Eurocarparts might have it listed in the Laguna bit.

If you have to go to Wests they won't have the part in stock, when mine had a damper fail it was off the road for 3 or 4 days waiting to ship one in from France.

Hi Tom
In the end, I bought a new OEM Lucas caliper from Shop4Parts £75 delivered. Roughly half Renault's list price.
