I want the cylinder head on my 205 gas flowed, ported and polished.
I am looking at using Scholar, if anyone has and experience (good or bad) I would be really useful.

Many thanks in advance.

Scholar are superb. Your biggest issue dealing with them is that it is the middle of the race season so they'll be busy but other than that you can't really go wrong with them.

Ditto - first class work. Have prepared engines for David Coulthard in the past, according to the posters in the reception!

Not easy to find, if you've not been there before and/or don't have a satnav. Look out for the roadside sign on the A140...

Also - don't take a car with a very low ground clearance - their driveway is a bit rough!

The one that looks like a Casrtol sign but with Scholar instead of Castrol?

Great, thanks for the feedback. I have booked them to do the work on my 205.

I am very happy, they also ported and polished the inlet manifold off their own back. The engine in original standard form produces 123bhp, after the work and without a cat plus a mild Piper cam fitted it now produces 142bhp.

The guys are about a mile from me, I visited them a few years back looking at using their rolling road, but they'd not used it for years, so we never had the chance to test it. But as the others have said, they have a very good reputation.

Their website focuses on the high performance / race engine work but they will rebuild most engines. They even agreed to rebuild my Austin 7 'Swallow' engine for the princely sum of around 1k + parts!

They built my Locost engine and did a first rate job.

There was a problem with faulty camshafts which was down to the series specified supplier. Scholar replaced the camshaft and handled all the issues with the supplier, which was a load of aggravation for them.

I can't recommend them highly enough.

They're not too bad to find as they're more or less across the road from the Mendlesham transmitter; at more than 1000' tall you can see it from miles away.
