Having sold my house I'm in the process of buying a refurb project. Not a wreck, rather a grand old Victorian house that hasn't been touched by the current owners for 45 years.

So I'm looking for complete rewire, complete central heating + 3 bathrooms, multi-zone thermostats, Megaflow etc, knock 2 rooms into 1 (including removal of chimney breast from floor to roof + RSJ etc), and lots of general building works including plastering and some roofing.

Now I've done the route of individual quotes, but wondered if there was a decent sized company that could do it all that anyone could recommend, alternatively is that such a person/trade that would do all the site management, quotes and organisation for me? Ipswich based.

I also seem to remember there was a local TVR owner called Mark (with a Chimaera), based somewhere near Bury St Edmunds that owned a company that specialised in house restorations. Any ideas?

Thanks for the offer, but it's 1 man bands that I'm trying to avoid. I've got plenty of individual tradesmen/general builders, I wanted to see if there was an all-in-one company that anyone could recommend.(for example I've used Strawstone in the past)

Welton and Son in Kelsale are very highly recommended indeed. Connection though in that my brother in law is one of the owners.

Ta muchly.

Although my email issue appears to be because my works firewall has now banned the Hotmail gadget from the iGoogle interface. So apologies if I can't reply to the PM's until later.

Just bear in mind that any structural works will need to be backed up with calculations for Building Control purposes!

J.P. Chick & Partners have an office in Ipswich. I use their other office in Norwich for all my structural calculations!
