I have come across a couple that seem to be regular haunts!

On the A11 heading north approaching the Barton Mills roundabout.

He has been there twice in the last week! He parks up just past where the NSL changes to 50mph. Rich pickings for him, I think, as most drivers don't slow down at that point.

Even seen him on the other side of the road just before the end of the 50mph limit.

Another favourite is on the A14, heading east near the services past Newmarket.

The A47 near Narborough, and the Layby just behind the Cafe caravan thing on the outskirts of Swaffam.
The A10 Tottenhill Pub car park, the layby just past Denver (after a bend) and the Southery slip road.
The A134 the layby between Wereham and the Downham turn off.
The A17 Station road Clenchwarton.
The A148 Everywhere.
The A149 Castle Rising slip road, the Farm track between Castle Rising and Sandringham; and the layby just before Hunstanton.
The B1145 Reepham road.
Norfolk is a Police State!

The A47, just West of Acle, where the speed changes to 50, then to a single carriageway, 9 times out of 10 there will be a nice officer taking pics. Also heading northbound, north of Lowestoft on the A12 approaching the roundabout just south of the James Paget Hospital, the duel carriageway changes from 70 to 40 in the blink of an eye, about 1/4 mile before the roundabout, another easy money grabbing spot. I'm sure it's the only reason the speed limit is changed the way it is. I think the same will go for similar situations around the country, where the limit changes by 20-40mph instantly, especially where there are trees, a wall, or a crest. What I'd give for a cloaking device smile

All out side schools in 30mph zones thenranting Nearly always on dual carriage ways, usually ones with a limit set too low. Nothing to do with saftey what so ever. tax tax tax tax tax tax tax tax tax

Been through one everyday this week. Only one was a scamera van the rest were plod. The sneaky one was on the A14 between ipswich and the A140 to Norwich. Unmarked car, chairs out on the bridge, looking like those people that count cars (or whatever it is they do). Wasn't until you were nearly under the bridge that you could see it was plod with a gun

That one got Jonny_UK heading SOUTH. The assumption being that he was scamming cars heading North, so he was givin' it beans.

This is why I sometimes drive without a front number plate, because all you can get is slap on the wrist, and a trip to your local MOT station, instead of funding the policemans ball, and a higher insurance premium!

I got flashed the other morning on the A605 near the A1 roundabout. Looked straight at my speedo that was at 40mph and my Sat' Nav' said 37mph must be a faulty camera or the fog was messing with it. Either way there hasn't been any significant accident on that road in the past five years (good old freedom of information act) so the camera is illegally placed and the SP40 will get thrown out of court anyway.

Sticky it because i just got nailed with a NIP in the Barton Mills 50mph section.

Section of A47 at north burlingham where it is 50mph is defo a favourite, drive it very often and am very religious on my speed there.

Edit:

Just seen Sussers post, copy that he got me going away, doing 69 leptons in a 50.

Don't the rules state they have to be clearly visable from the road side, including high vis?

He was there a lot last week and again today.

It just proves my theory that road safety has bu99er all to do with it. It's all about the most lucrative sites!

Nine out of Ten speed cameras in our green and pleasant concentration camp are actually illegal.
Whenever you get a "notification of prosicution" letter in the post write a letter to your local constabluary questioning the validity of the camera and under the freedom of information act find out how many fatal accidents have been on that stretch of road in the last five years. This a requirement for the "safety camera" to be installed. Also under the freedom of information act request the calibration schedule of the camera, date of installation, the number of accidents five years before and after the camera was installed and how much revenue the camera has generated.

If there have been no fatal accident on that road the camera is illegal.

If the camera has not been calibrated for twenty eight days prior to the ticket, it is invalid.

If the number of accidents has not been reduced after the camera has been installed the camera serves no purpose other than revenue generation (also known as entrapment) and therefore should not still be in place. The court will order its removal. If this is the case the camera must be removed within twenty eight days; otherwise the Police are in breach of a court order and you can have the court issue a summons to them.

One for the nature lovers out there. I had a camera removed from the old A17 Terrington St Clement because it's sonar/radar system interfeared with Barn Owls and upsets the local Long Eared Bat population. I couldn't prove that it did, but they couldn't prove that it didn't. Had the RSPB behind me on that one.

Also under the freedom of information act formally request to see the planning permission of the camera and ask the local residents if they were consulted before it was installed. Nearly all cameras are put in place without planning permission. If they have been there less than five years you can put up a petition to have it condemed and removed.

I've just checked my SIA licence and I'm allowed to clamp vehicles. Lets see if those mobile cameras are ever parked legally.
