Hi all,
I've been a member of PH for a while but only recently encountered the EA area. I followed the thread about the fish and chip run on April 5th which, I have to say, sounded fantastic. I look forward to participating in a few in the summer and wondered what kind of stuff I can look forward to seeing at them??
I am currently in a 1.25 Fiesta (my excuse is that I'm 18 and still in full time education!) so I imagine anything will seem interesting!

Er, have a look at PHEA.co.uk. That'll give you some idea. Everything from 180k supercars to 1k run-arounds. The important thing is not what you drive but your love of motoring.

Hi Matt,

Hopefully I can clarify things! This forum is 'Pistonheads East Anglia' (part of Haymarket) - a very succesful cybercommunity. A few years ago some of us decided to get together and meet up for real and do things, rather than just sit at home bashing keyboards. And so 'PHEA' was born - a loose band of folk who basically like doing the same sort of things. It's a bit like a car club, but without the membership fee and committee. It does however take two people to round things up; currently these are myself and Darren ('iluvmercs').

PHEA events divide into three categories:

1) Roadshow events (generally static car displays) are the most prestigious and usually limited to sportscars - the faster, more exotic and expensive the better. Some are free (eg Lavenham), others have an entrance fee (eg Duxford), although frequently we get a discount since we're contributing to the interest of the show. Currently the organisation of Roadshow events is shared between Darren and myself. We set up the big PistonHeads banners, usually have a gazebo in case it rains, and if allowed fire up a barbeque as well.

2) Monthly meets. These are the last Sunday lunchtime of each month, and alternate between South and North venues (essentially a decent pub with plenty of parking). Everybody and every kind of car is welcome at these, and they are run by Darren. It's really a good pub lunch, but with cars as well.

3) Raids. Essentially any other jolly that involves driving about, usually in convoy with something interesting to see. These are open to all cars as long as you can keep up! We're always open to ideas - if any trustworthy geezer comes up with a good idea and wants to run it (eg the Fish & Chip run from 'MarkCSC' and the forthcoming Foxhall raceway from 'Tankerman24'), then we add it to the list of Stuff.

Each event is announced on the forum here, and also circulated via the PHEA e-mail list, so there's plenty of notice.

And in the true spirit of PH it's all FREE bounce

Did I answer the question? spin

Oops! I meant "the odd Lambo", rather than "the odd one a Lambo".
