Hi all!

Just finishing up the Ultima build with engine now started and SVA booked for 22nd April (Norwich) & hopefully on the road driving for May with a bit (lot) of luck...............I was just wondering how many other Ultimas are in the area either running or in build? Would be great to meet up with some other owners during the summer months! For those interested here's a link to the car's start-up over on the Ultima forum:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Also been chatting with Clint(Dirtyboy....great PH name by the way!)about the getting together for the Siverstone Classic not sure if there are any other events being planned at the moment?

Simon

That's a gorgeous Ultima you have there! thumbup
Being a local, if you'd like to pop along to any events, meets or shows, check out www.phea.co.uk (plug over!) wink

There's a spoiler-less black one in Norwich, but that's the only other Ultima I've seen or know of that lives around here smile

Is that Lucky P; the guy who ran his bearings at Honington ?. There's a video here somewhere;

IIRC we had four Ultimas at Rougham 2-3 years ago. I think two have since been sold but hopefully you'll be able to step in and fill the gap smile

Thanks Darren - yeah thought I'd seen that black GTR on PH & You Tube......didn't realize he was as close as Norwich thoughsmile Hopefully be able to hook-up with you guys at some of the events during the year ahead.....

Paul - I know LuckyP quite well.....we're racing together this year in the 750MC MR2 Championship.....his is another Black Ultima GTR - in all honesty his is probably the best known GTR on PH having done a lot of the speed events such as Fighting Torque and Vmax together with a lot of track events. The car was recently featured under the 'PH Heroes' feature.........beautifully finished Ultima & the inspiration behind quite a lot of the details on my car.....

Hi again Simon.

The black GTR, is not LuckyP but RichF, he bought some of my engine bits after I went to the dark side with EFI! Anyway I am here, yellow GTR with green stripes in Cambridgeshire, not far from Ely.

Hi Phil!

All these black GTR's make things confusing - Ultimas should be nice bright colours like orange or yellow....not really the car for the shy and retiring typelaugh Hopefully we can arrange a get together in the summer.....

Are you coming to Brands Hatch 24/25 April for the MR2's? Probably have a spare ticket you have if you fancy a day out and wanna give me and Pete a bit of moral support!

Hi Simon,
Your Ultima is looking lovely I have the black ultima without the spioler in Norfolk, live in Horstead, it is currently waiting for the front bonnet to be repaired after damaging the hinge point, hopefully this will be fixed in a few weeks so can go for a drive, with days like this should be out there now.
Lookforward to meating up with you all at one of the events.
Richard.

Hi Richard!

Yeah it's tough being off the road at the start of summer!

Enjoyed the vid of your doughnut sessions - looked like fun but heck you got close once or twice to dem baleshehe Can't imagine what the cleaning session was like!

Thanks for the comments on the car - really enjoyed the build so far though have to say as the SVA approaches I seem to find things in my sleep to add to the 'to do' list! Be interested to know if you used Norwich for your SVA and any tips you may have?

Looking forward to a PHEA Ultima group meet up....like Paul you're more than welcome to come have a gander at the car and grab a coffee when I'm about.....homes Oulton Broad so not far!

Simon

PS - Love the look of 'De-winged' GTR - really helps show of the lines of the car and the rear 3/4 view! Unfortunately think I'm gonna have to go with one at some point due to the amount of track work I've got planned.....but we'll wait and see!

Hi Simon,
Will take you up on the offer of a look round, need to go to Oulton to do some work on my dads boat it is moored at the Lowerstoft crusing club. I used the Norwich DVLA they were very helpfull and pleased to have a Ultima to look round, that was in 2005 though.
