Two very different sporty cars, which is best from year 2002/03? Any nightmares to look for.

Yes either of these two cars would be capable of getting around East Anglia PDF I would imagine, if I take an test drive I had better remember I'm not in my Vintage jobbie and give an mighty great bootful on the loud pedal.

If I do go for an Noble I think it will be named Philgetmecoat

Make sure the Noble has the MBE ECU put in (the Magnet Marelli's all seem to fail at some point). You don't want to have to do this yourself as it's a loom change.

Must have a trackday sump if you do trackdays.

5 speed open diff tend to be quite weak, so beware.

And it's a £50k car so just remember that when servicing etc....

But, all that said it'll run rings around a T350 biggrin

Kerridges, testdrive, get saving hehe

(just don't drive a 3R or M400, it'll just cost you more money wink)

Depends on how much you want to spend, it's best to go for a late 04 T350 onwards as they had some engine upgrades done which solved a lot of the old speed 6 engine problems.

Oh and you could put a 4.3 in it then see how many Nobles keep up! wink

Can't believe you're selling it, but never mind.

Are you going to get another TVR at any point?

Spot on mate, the torque is unreal, a bit more like a V8 now, only 900 miles left until i can give it full beans!

I gave it a clean yesterday, got the clay bar done then it started pi$$ing down so i didn't get to finish it unfortunately.

I still haven't seen yours yet!

Sounds good, must be a nightmare having to restrain your right foot!

I'm undecided on whether to head up to Snetterton and watch PHers LuckyP and LS7TANGO race their MR2s or attend the TVR meet at Halesworth this Sunday?

Is anyone else out?

To be honest the running in parameters Dom at Power gave me are a little more liberal than i expected so it's not too bad.

I'm off to sunny Cairo for 4 weeks tomorrow so i'm out i'm afraid.

Don't know what to do here either. We're out with friends on Saturday and Sunday I was supposed to be laying the shed base out. Now this is a job which shouldn't take more than an hour or two as I've done most of the work but we've all said that before...

As you say - 2 totally different cars.

What are you going to be using it for? If primarily track then it'd be the Noble every day of the week for me. But the T350 I reckon is a bit more comfortable and better appointed for day to day road use and touring. The Noble has bugger all storage/luggage space either and lacks creature comforts in the cabin. I can't comment on the drive of a Noble but having been a passenger in one it will run rings around the 350 on track. On the road and within your limits I doubt there'd be much difference at all.

The 350 came out in 2002 though IIRC there are very few cars from this year. The engines are supposed to be better the later you go for (early 04 onwards allegedly) but be aware my 54 plate 350 with 9k on the clock has just had a bottom end rebuild due to an incorrectly alligned bearing wearing out the crank. TVR engine builders quality control department obviously hadn't been told when it came to building mine.

That said I made my choice with the option of Caymans, Nobles, Vettes & Z4Ms and still feel I made the right decision. I love the 350, the looks, noise, speed & handling - to me it feels more special than any of the others. My advice though - go with the one that makes YOU smile the most, not what makes the others smile!
