I did Marham a couple of years back....nice long circuit, but be prepared for re-spraying the front of your car and replacing all the tyres due to the taxi-way surface! Expensive day out that one!!MG Mark
Isn't it funny how people have that mis-conception of Marham? we went last year and unless you sit right on the back bumper of the car in front, we didn't have an issue with stone chips, the whole track was swept prior to the day so unless you run wide or "clip" the corners, the track stays pretty much clear.
All being well i'm going again in april and i sprayed my car last year but it will be getting treated to a coating of "paint protection film" just in case!!!

Unless someone driving like a tool in a carlton (iirc) showers you in st Shortie123 said:

Not mis-conception. Fact.I wasn't up anyones back end and had to have a whole front end respray and replace the foglights of my M3.
All airfield trackdays are notoriously harder on a car than a proper track-track day.
Tyres get a harder time due to the way the surface is cross cut. It makes is highly abrasive. Nature of the beast I'm afraid.
Bentwaters is the same.

Why is it a mis-conception? Maybe if people are going from rumour or hearsay but having tracked there once I won't do so again. The number of stones in the air meant my Chims front end was peppered. It's also very hard to stay totally off someones rear end.Zippee said:

It's also very hard to stay totally off someones rear end. It's still not completely free of the risk of stone chips but, it's a lot better than it was.
Perhaps that's where the confusion arises from?
Agree about tyre wear though, but, the more grip there is the faster they wear
ETA, way off topic, apologies to the OP!

I didn't have a stonechip problem either
but then again
you were ALL faster than me
but my Midget did wreck some more tyres again, either you have "on the limit" (even my Midget has a limit!) driving or you take the twisties more sedately.
And sedate is for other people...
See you in April (I'll be the slow one again)

Marham was 100% better in October than any previous Marham days, the odd stone chip but as expected with this style of event and certainly no worse than Woodbridge (but alot cheaper!).
Tyres - any airfiels event is abrasive but again you take this into consideration and try to locate some worn tyres from your local tyre dealer...
and all monies raised at Marham go to charity...
