Well I have already said that I put myself up for re-election each year, this gave the members a chance to boot me out or endorse me. I would like to see EAPH adopt the same ethic.

Crankedup raised this point last night in the locked thread. Kinky, in locking it, says that the forum can be used to discuss this. So lets go there !

Please don't turn this into something it isn't

ps : this really should be open to the whole mailing list. Darren care to oblige ?

Bit of a mute point if nobody wants to do it. I don't remember plethora of hands going up when Darren graciously agreed to take some of the load on board.

But hey, what do I know. Maybe there's a whole queue of people who want to spend their spare time, for little thanks, setting up fun stuff for us. Good on them smile

Oh dear. Just when we thought we'd get a morning's peace, he's kicked off again.

Yesterday we agreed to leave it, and yesterday Ian said:

- but now he's kicked off again... and will keep doing so... yet Ian has very publicly stated that he's left PHEA. I'll leave the readers to decide his real motive behind this.

Have you something to fear from this John ?

I have been given the green light to run this poll by a 'mod'. What's the problem ?

In light of events, go where exactly ? Am I now banned from this forum ? If so by who ?

I fear for your sanity Ian, and I'm not the only one.

So, you're not in PHEA, but you want a decision about how it's run. That's odd. Furthermore, before you can have an election, you need candidates to stand. I have told you about 4,000,000 times both on the forum and off it that if someone suitable wants to take over, they can do it. Unfortunately this simple fact appears to be beyond your comprehension. Therefore you are simply rabble-rousing, as you have done so consistently since Saturday, and have caused everybody a great deal of trouble - not just me. People now visit this forum from miles around to see your latest antic, and here's Wednesday's effort. What will happen tomorrow, they wonder, as they tune in to catch the latest episode of 'Bunfight at the OK Tearooms'?

Why not sit back and let the poll run? After all, the poll its self is not doing any harm and hopefully it will be conclusive.

Then no problem, but at least the group has had the chance to chose. Have you checked the poll ?

I raised the issue of R.O's being voted in/out yearly for I was hoping that people will see benefits attached to this simple method, loads of clubs vote in/out "post holders' don't they. If its an yes vote to keep the current R.O. in place then thats his/her endorsement that a great job is being done. New members joining half way in the year also get a chance to vote for themselves (if keen or daft enough). Once the vote is concluded then all members accept the new/established R.O. (or leave for another club or whatever of course). It certainly stops arguments about event organisation and I found it 'cements' the group closer together, so to speak. Sorry if it all sounds patronising its not meant to be.

MAY I SUGGEST THAT THE POLL IS CLOSED AT AN SET DATE/TIME. SATURDAY 28th Feb' 12.00 noon

I assume you mean a yearly vote and not every time someone new 'joins'. What is 'joining' anyway? I'm on a couple of email lists and I've been to a few events over the year. Am I in a club then?

I think to the following point can't be stressed enough though. So quoting this clever chap wink

No, of course you're not banned (you can still post!), but I'm told your e-mail antics yesterday got you very close to it.

As for 'go where', yes, you should have had your exit strategy better worked out, ie a new group in place. But I'm inviting you here and now to rejoin PHEA and have the reconciliation that Darren worked so hard for. You can some to stuff I'm organising and I'll behave as if this never happened. Friends come and go but enemies only accumulate. Neither of us want enemies, they screw you up, spoil your appetite and get in the way of doing nicer things.

PistonHeads East Anglia forum (ie where we are now) is NOT the same as the PHEA 'group' that goes to shows etc. The forum is owned by Pistonheads/Haymarket but PHEA just uses the brand by permission. That permission was given personally to me, face to face, by PetrolTed because it's a valuable brand and he would only let it be used by somebody he trusted 100%. So if anyone should decide who to entrust with 'PHEA', it should be PH Management/Haymarket because they own the brand. Indeed, I saw requests that the whole forum be shut down and frankly right now I wouldn't be to bothered if it was, and I wouldn't blame them.

So, I ask again, are there any (competent professional) volunteers who want to take over the PH Roadshow?

Well, i clicked on "Don't care" cos as a backseat reader and not having met EITHER party involved in the seemingly ongoing tit-for-tat disputes on here, as an outsider can i put my point on the table??.........

ITS GETTING BORING GUYS!!!!!!!!

I'm on here as a few mates are registered too and what with Marham track day just round the corner, its good to keep check on what is going on relating the subjects that interest me. I don't want to read about "he said this, he should be doing that, why hasn't this been done" etc, there is enough playground antics going on in such places...... THE PLAYGROUND.

I'm not trying to stir things up as i have similar issues going on over on another club site i'm chairman of, we've just had our AGM and a new committee has been elected to carry out such tasks of the members wishes. I know from experience its not an easy task to arrange events, people seem keen but getting commitment from them is another issue when it comes to taking money or confirmed numbers etc.

An election process would work BUT ONLY if there are willing candidates, to turn it into a battle of wills then makes it a pointless exercise........ To do a vote in public then raises the issue of someone feeling obliged to side with their mate thus not making it a true vote. Why not make it a poll on the forum i.e "Are you happy for John to carry on being PHEA Events co-ordinator?" or similar, that way people can vote in private and not feel they HAVE to put their vote one way or another.

Finally..... Some of the events i'd like to look at for our club too BUT if our club wouldn't be interested, i'd love to come along as a PH'er but with the tension thats been raised recently, i'd question if i really want to.

Thats my opinion really but hey, i'm just a little ol no-body. lol beer

Ok.

I thought I'd stay out of this and try and bring a humorous slant on the sniping that has been going on recently, however......it's boring now.

Several people have tried to calm things down, to no avail.

Ian, you are making yourself look pathetic now. You went to the effort of starting a "I'm flouncing off" thread, but haven't actually shut up and flounced off.

Stop. Either put up with things as they are or flounce off.

I know both of you guys so am not wanting to take sides, but there appears to be one protagonist here who won't let it lie.

Get a life FFS.

ETA: I voted 'no' but also could have easily voted for 'dont care'.

At this rate, nobody will want to turn up to anything for fear of watching two people whining and tantruming at each other.
