Lincs / North Norfolk forum refused
Discussion
For those who hadn't picked up on this information on the other threads last night (one of which was locked again !), the powers at PH HQ have refused the request for this forum.
Can I ask that those who wish to see this happen take the time to email the boss :
Garlick and state the case for this.

In theory a new forum for Linc/NN may sound great but in reality, you'll need hundreds to e-mail Paul requesting this, and that's unlikely, not to mention a pain in the arse for Paul's inbox. Can I ask that those who wish to see this happen take the time to email the boss :

Unfortunately, East Anglia covers a vast area, but not a massive population, there's REALLY no need for you to dash off creating a new forum, especially as this forum isn't exactly the busiest at the moment in any case.
Stay here, lets get some good attendances at some shows (i'll try and make some ) and enjoy some good company of car nuts. As with any club, you'll always get those with differences, but we're not asking you to cuddle and be best mates, just be tolerant.
If you're really desperate, perhaps attach Lincs to Notts/Leicester' ?
Hi Ian
I think I have stated my reasons to you clearly enough over e mail, and for the time being the decision is to keep the one forum.
I'm sure most have seen the previous threads and will e mail me if they choose to. If they have missed a thread then they will have received the e mail you sent recently covering the same topic.

However, I haven't heard much in the way of information about when and where ANY of the shows are that PHEA are planning to attend in 2009. Someone did ask about this and the thread ended up being locked! (Why did this happen, by the way? Was there a rule that I don't know about that was broken??)
I daren't ask anything now, so I'll probably go to shows this year with another club that I'm a member of.

I decided to leave it open no real reason to lock it.....for now.
Fair enough. This is all such a shame really, I have no idea what's gone on (and no wish to either) but it's particuarly odd when two blokes have issues.
Unless you've slept with each others partners (or each other for that matter) is there really no reason you can't just kiss and make up?
Really?
Come on? Nothing is THAT bad.

Whilst we're on the subject of locked threads; you are specifically referring to the one I locked last night:http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
I thought I was being friendly, polite, sensible and very reasonable in locking the thread - but more importantly stating exactly why. I have to be honest - I personally disappointed by the tone implied by your post above that yet another of your threads has been locked. That may not have been your intent - but it's how I interpret it - as others do too.
I'll treat your threads exactly the same way as I would any other - and will continue to do so. Should I see a thread that I deem inappropriate; then I'll take what I feel is the necessary action required - particularly those of an inflamatory nature.
I hope this helps to clarify.
Incidently, I think that Dirty Boy nicely sums it all up for me.

I think the tone of both could come across better, but the majority of the time it's difficult to come across with the correct tone when writing, and more difficult for us outsiders to interpret what's going on when you don't know jack.
Oh well.
PS
Garlick, I know you're reading this, so stop ignoring the PistonFest section, where/when are we having one!

I,m sorry if you felt that I was blaming you in some way, that is not what I meant. The thread appears to have been locked (rightly) because a certain individual could not take any critism and things where getting out of hand again.
I was not even on line whist this was going on, and was not aware of the 'locking' until logging on this morning.

Honestly I,m not trying to wind you up. I just want the strength of feeling about this to be brought to your attention.
I think I had better be quiet now as everything I type gets me into trouble.
