Heavily modified Midget - Shelsley Walsh here we come
E-Type - hopefully still alive
Legacy GTB - for the children you understand

ETA - my daily drive - impreza wagon

Wanted: a cheap classic with lots of poke / something different with space for 4.

We may see you out and about this year but will have to be child friendly shows!

The Mercedes E320 Coupe will come out to play in the Summer and for shows. It'll be nice to get some windows down cruising going on thumbupdriving

And my new addition with extremely enjoyable when the whether gets better, and I can use the Quattro system to the best of it's ability.

Peugeot 407 SW diesel does all the boring practical stuff
MX-5 keep the missus happy and provides fun

The MGA Coupe keeps me happy and provides bags of fun......

Plans for change at the moment are the MX5 for a Boxster as/when funds permit and, possibly, the MGA but only if the right classic alternative presents itself...

My current weapon of choice is the wifes daewoo matiz, three cylinders would be just plain greedy, so trying to drive it on two because of a dodgy injector makes things, interesting. I actually think Mr cranked up would hand my arse to me in a traffic light grand prix wink

Are old bikes welcome at most of these events?

If they are, I'd quite like to do some of the local things. Most likely will be a 1929 Velocette KTT Mk1. Either that or a 1963 Velocette Venom if I can't be arsed with bump starting the KTT! Or possibly a 1928 Royal Enfield and sidecar for slow races with crankedup!

1997 Honda Civic 1.4 - Lowered by 40mm and team dynamics lightweight alloy wheels on. I admit this sounds like a chavvy car and im sure those who see it would think so too but it offers great driving pleasure and i really enjoy owning it. I admit it is a bit too loud even for me but hey. I am very much a driving person and i look for the best way to improve the driving sensation which i have by the above modifications. I also drive Aston Martins and Lotus' on the occasion at work although the Aston side will end as of this friday. So believe me, I am no chav (iluvmercs can confirm that). Just one of the younger generation who is on a constant quest for a "smile on your face" driving experience.

I also have a 1972 Lotus Elan Sprint.
It is one of the limited run Gold Leaf editions known as a type 49. It is actually number 49 of the limited run too, which makes it just that little bit more special (to me anyway). I am currently rebuilding it with help from my dad (who has owned the car from new). Currently it sits as a rolling chassis in one section and the body hanging on the wall over the other side of our garage. The engine is in bits surrounded by empty tubes of smarties (they keep me going). I am rebuilding it every spare chance i get. I started with a bare brand new galvinsied syder chassis so i havn't done too badly. Once the engine is done, i will be rubbing the shell down and getting her fully resprayed. Then all being well marry the two together. Make and fit a brand new wiring loom adn then fit all the interior trim and hopefully we'll have a fully working Elan. Luckily i have no deadline as such as i can't insure it until im 25 frown. So yeah, that's me and my "steeds".

Oh, for the record, no planned changes. Maybe a Mazda 3 MPS 260 depending if my new job warrants it smile

Hardly dare say TBH but I would have thought that ANY interesting mode of transport is what PH is all about. Also I have recieved an welcome when I have turned up in one of my vintage wagons. My Bro' is keen on old bikes his latest purchase being an 1947 BSA M33.

I can do boring, Skoda Octavia estate, diesel, economical and very practical and I also have a Ginetta G15 which I am determined to get back on the road within the next couple of months for a spot of very scruffy motoring fun.

We currently run:-

  • Ford GT - Mr Clarkson's old car with a couple of tweaks to 651bhp
  • Noble 3R - 500bhp+ after opening my wallet at Revolve (Roush) for a bit too long
  • Triumph Herald convertible - Not as fast as the two above but a stunning turning circle if nothing else. Fun in the sun.
  • BMW 530i touring. A nice place to be day to day.
Might sell the Noble at some point. Tempted by something with a V12 in it (but not an Aston, Ferrari or Lamborghini) smile
