Firstly, I will state that I,m not proud of some of the things posted yesterday but after all of the digging at me over the last few days I finally snapped.

I,m sorry if I have brought this forum a bad name, I did try to resolve things between myself and the other party, but to date I still have not been told what I did wrong ??? Please read this thread that started it all and let me know what you think.

This will be the last you will see of me either on here or at any PHEA events. I can't now continue. Hopefully the powers at PH will grant the new Lincs/Norfolk forum and I can move over there and keep out of everyones way.

Looks like you have forced me out then John. Bye all.

See you at the alternative meets then Ian :-) Can't really understand what you've said too provoke the reactions we've seen, but there we are. You'll be missed at PHEA I'm sure. I'm not at all fussed if it's PHEA or another group so long as it's a pleasant and fun day with good people.

Well, I for one, have always enjoyed your easy and outgoing character Ian thumbup

You have always made everyone most welcome at all the shows I have attended in the past and I hope we bump into each other at some point in the future.
You have done a great job at PHEA over the last few years. I'm sure I can't be the only one to wish you success with the new venture.

All the best

As I mentioned in our phone call Ian, I will respect and openly support whatever you decided to do over this matter.

I'm somewhat disheartened things have panned out this way, however I stick by what I said.

If this group gets off the ground, I'll give my support by attending meets and events, jsut so long as they don't clash with PHEA events.

I wish you all the best, and I'll certainly be keeping in touch.

All the best,

Darren

Gosh, I'm surprised at all this.

I always thought that you chaps got on, ya know, to the point of touching each others bums.

Daz, that's not an invite.

Well some of you will be very please to hear the the powers at PH have refused to grant a new forum for Lincs / North Norfolk. So it looks like I now have nowhere to go ! furious

Thanks a lot.

Well thats a crock of st, its us enthusiasts that made this site and now that the site is succesful thats the reward. Bol*ocks to that, I call for a general downing of keypads until such times as your situation is resolved to your favour. How say thee? judge

So now there are thirty gazillion people organising events in different areas, can we have a sticky/Wiki putting all the meets in one thread please?

This all seems a bit strange. Having met you a couple of times Ian, you seemed one of the most laid back easy going characters I've met which makes this whole situation look a little odd. It's sad that you've backed yourself into a corner to the point of leaving and I hope you can get some sort of amicable outcome from this that suits you and the groups in the region.

Spot on Karl, one of the real good guys. Think Crankedup has the right idea, a downing of keyboards.

Phil, agree would like to know the reason for refusal. There isn`t a forum that covers lincs in place anyway, so its not as if it would be overlapping another one.

Ian,

Come over to the 'dark side' - Get rid of the Corvette, buy my other Viper and become a member of the UK Viper family. We can always do with a keen car enthusiast and event organiser.

The only loser of you going will bw PHEA.

We look forward to seeing you at other events - join the Sporting Bears Motor Club and come with us on a few Dream Ride events.

All the best
Nigel & Mary.

I'd imagine the reasons are :-

A) Forums need a critical mass to work. The East Anglia forum isn't the busiest place on the net already. Splitting just makes it closer to the edge.

B) It's divisive. If we all split up because, for what ever reason, things got 'difficult' PH would have 1,000's of forums. There'd be about 50 Lambo Ferrari ones for starters smile

So, what happens now? People start touting for members in rival camps? What happens if PHEA and PHNL (whatever it'd be called) both want to do Stamford for example. That will be fun won't it.

'Hello, show ground organiser here. Yes we like car clubs coming along. Pistonheads you say? That's odd you're already booked in. You want to be the other end of the field to them? Oh....'

hhhmmmm

Hello.

Stamford Show organiser here.... (Yes, really!)

Living near Stamdord means that I already follow 3 forums on PH - EA, Midlands and Northampton, so introducing a 4th would give me no problems. The field is big enough to keep everyone apart - I already have fun keeping the boom box boys away from the classic car owners and the polishers away from PH as they don't think your cars should be there anyway, as they aren't classics!

The main thing is to remember that cars are supposed to be a fun hobby, and not to get too serious about it all.

Ian - you will still be welcome at the show.

In the very first year of PHEA (which was a split from the TVRCC) the organisers of the very first show put us side by side. We arrived in convoy with lights on and Smiley & Piston flags fluttering from the A-frames. The TVRCC folk looked extremely grumpy and all turned the other way - it was wonderful!

The difference is that if and when the 'Lincs Car Club' or whatever rolls up, we will smile and wave at them, because we know clubs are bgger than people.
