Some have come in but I'd prefer to wait until we have them all before making Ye Grande Announcement. Theres's loads of time yet and if you launch things too early people don't book because they can't see that far ahead - then forget altogether. Strange but true!

Why not just post them as and when they are finalised? It's hardly a state secret after all.

Fair enough, but surely thats the whole point of the e-shots we send out to remind people nearer the time of the event.

I agree to a point with Richard I,m afraid. I have the dates for at least two of the shows already confirmed via the organisers (although these have been passed on as I,m no longer involved), surely it is possible to list the events that we intend to attend giving a date where you have it and a 'date TBC' where you do not.

A lot of people (myself included) are thinking of booking holidays around this time of year, and it would be helpful to have some dates to work around if there is a particular event that you don't want to miss because you are away on holiday.

As I say, I,m no longer involved so I,ll await the announcement.

Peter, up until last year it is one that we always attended. Not sure what's happening this year though. I,m sure that either John or Darren will pop along shortly to let you know.

Well if one of you wants to take over...

It's February! It's not important yet! And yes, we'll do Helmingham this year. If they hold it. I don't know. They haven't sent me anything yet. The only shows with dates are Duxford (3 May, 2 August) and Newmarket (June 28). I very much doubt that anyone would re-arrange their family holiday just to go to a car show. I'm on the case. It's still February.

Ooh touchy. wink

The date for Kimbolton (assuming we are doing it) is avilable and has been sent to Darren a couple of weeks back. Also if you are doing Duxford on Aug 2nd you will not be at Helmingham as that's their date. A quick search of the 'interweb' will give you dates for all the shows we have attended in the past. As I don,t know which ones you intend to support this year this information isn't a lot of good to me though.

I,ll leave you too it and butt out. getmecoat

I think you're missing your old job Ian! You can come back and take over my role if you wish, or sit back and relax. I've run stuff like this perfectly well for about 10 years and everyone knows I'm a safe pair of hands, so there's no need for this agitation. It merely makes a pleasant job less pleasant.

The role is always open to anyone who wants to take over or thinks they can do it better. I'll be quite happy to step down and let somebody else have a go. Applicants apply below.

I,m not sure why there is a need for the 'defensive' response to what was a simple question. frown Maybe your just having a bad day.

I was only interested in knowing what events we are likely to attend. Obviously it is not for the 'masses' to know at present.

WOAH! Guys!
Come on, this isn't what PHEA is all about...Let us take a step back, take a deep breath and relax my friends.

I can understand some members would like some dates, and if the WWW has the answer, then the dates are out there smile

But if John is waiting until the events are confirmed, I assume he's been waiting to hear from me.

I'm going to be organised PHEA's attendance at Stamford (30th August), Kimbolton (19th July) and Lakenheath (9th May) and hopefully the Norfolk Show Ground's Gala Day (6th Sept).
I've already made an in-road to the Gala Day, Kimbolton and Lakenheath. Stamford has the date listed, but they are not yet taking entries.

HTH guys! smile

Well, as a member of the paying public, I'll be at Kimbolton and possibly Stamford.

Hope to catch up with a few of you then.

This only begs the question, whats the point of the group if I have to find it out all myself? At least if I did I would share it with everyone else.

Thanks for the heads up thumbup. Are the feds looking for you now you have published some dates yikes ?

Everyone appreciates the hard work, but there is no club if people cant attend meetings that are published too late for other commitments. I have just set dates for 8 visits to India for this year and have managed to fit the dates around 2 trips to the Nurburgring a trip around the Miglia Milia route, Rome, Milau and a weekend away in Spain. PHEA events? No, so I guess I wont go frown.

Its a shame, but i'll get over it wink.

All the best, Richard.

Whatever point it is you wanted to make Ian, I think you've made it several times.

The East Anglia forum is different from many other forums in that we meet up socially on a regular basis and so it's not a very good idea to start silly arguments.

For that reason I think this thread is better off closed, and then we can all stay on good terms.
