2009 Pub Meetings

Hello all!
I hope we all had a good new year!
Righty down to the first business of the year - the monthly pub meet.
At the end of 2008, there was a PHEA discussion which has resulted in the idea of having 2 monthly meeting venues - one for the Northern half, the other for those in the Southern half.
I have decided that I will officially arrange the monthly meeting at the venues alternately. So the Northern pub one month and the Southern pub the next.
I will be attending all pub the meets (assuming nothing ever clashes).
Of course this split doesn't mean you can't come along to both venues
The meetings will still be arranged around the same format, of meet for around 12:30pm, for 1pm eats
Also, the meets will still take place on the last Sunday of every month - just make sure you take note of where the meeting will be for that particular month
For the Northern pub will be using The Woolpack in Terrington St John, which was used as an informal meeting last year. I've spoken to the landlord, who seems willing and able to cater us. This pub is a couple of miles off the A47, west of Kings Lynn.

The Southern Meet will remain at The Rose and Crown in Stanton. This is based on the A143, not far from Ixworth, Suffolk. MAP HERE
Hopefully these pubs will serve as suitable venues, and my plan of alternate months suits most of you, giving all a chance to get to pub meets, without having to travel ridiculous distances for some grub
Now with a new year, let's try to get plenty of new faces to join us regulars for 2009

Has the Rose and Crown re-opened now then? Last time i went past it, it was all boarded up with that security grill stuff over all the windows and doors! I know it had been shut a while too and for what they were asking for the business was gonna be shut a fair while longer!
We had our Christmas meal there at the beginning of December, and all appeared well Darren
