Any day now I'll be taking delivery of my freshly rebuilt MG Midget.

I've specced the car with a competition spec rollcage / harnesses etc ready for some beginner's motorsport in mind.

There are very few other mods - the aim being to be eligible for lots of championships / events while accepting I probably won't be competitive in any.

I'll be doing several rounds of the MGCC Sprint / Hillclimb championship, some 12 car rallies with SCCON and a few of Borough 19s events. I'm even planning a few rallies with the HRCR Clubmans' Championship.

But most of these events are at least 3 hours drive from home in Norwich. #

Anybody know of any events such as PCTs / autotests / anything else closer to home?

Thanks.

Chris

Try West suffolk motor club - they used to run auto tests and hill climbs - I spent 2 enjoyable years as a club member before moving on to single venue rallying. They used to run autotests near thetford just off the A11 so wouldn't be too far to travel for you.

There may well be some trackdays announced here next year - I think 'MG Mark' is the man.

Aye, Marham Track Day weekends are always good fun - one normally in April the other in September or early October - awaiting dates for April which should be published early in the New Year - B'Stard Child was the PHEA co-ordinator for the last one, so keep on eye on the forum for news, and there's plenty of previous posts form the recent one if you want to see what it is all about - plenty of variety and always a few mates with breathed on Spidgets and Frogeyes there too. Don't miss it!

Might have mentioned to Chris, Mark, that most of Marham's Spridgets have a two or three hour trip to get there too.

Keep the roll cage Chris, we saw a Midge take a turn and and a half to the worse on the circuit a couple of track days ago

You will be welcome to come and chew fat with us in the Marham pits Chris, be cosy we'm all friendly.

(I'm the one with the slowest Spridget "on-circuit" but it is all great fun)
