As regulars will know, Sunday's Christmas Dinner marked the last of Ian V's events before stepping down as PHEA co-organiser. He's been extremely busy for the best part of three years running the monthly meets and some of the Shows as well, and done an excellent job. (If something works smoothly, it's because there's somebody behind the scenes ironing out the problems before anyone notices)

After weeks of interviewing hopefuls, we're very pleased to announce that we've found an ideal replacement - in the shape of Darrren Gee aka 'iluvmercs'. He needs no introduction of course! Darren will take over with immediate effect, running the meets and a couple of the northernmost shows as well. Please give him lots of supoprt by signing up to stuff, because without it, there's no PHEA! I'll continue to organise PHEA attendance at most of the Shows, and between us we'll field any other ideas that come in.

So Darren, if you'd like to step up on stage and say hello to all your fans out there in PH-land, post ye forth biggrin

I've not attended any PHEA meetings, and can therefore offer no opinion on this appointment whatsoever.

But well done anyway Mr iluvmercs.

Hopefully you may have time to bring your shiny TVR to one of our shows next year...?

Would love to. As long as the shows don't clash with Le Mans/Silverstone Classic, i'll make a concerted effort to get along.

Also, I think we should try to get along to the Police Gala Day this year, as that's a fantastic show (for the family too), was a little bit late notice this year unfortunately (more of an afterthought) so didn't manage to pull it off.

Darren still appears to be in bed, but yes, he did suggest doing it this year so it could well happen smile

Congrats on the position (hehe), Darren.

Another long time lurker, never-turned-upper here! Not sure how the Mini Cooper S would go down in the ranks of TVR's, Ultimas etc but usually a busy work schedule usually prevents frown

I should really make more of an effort!!

Well, I'd like to thanks my friends and family, my manager, agent, and of course my therapist.....oh wait...hehe

Anyway, I'm looking forward to arranging some events for 2009. There's already some extra event ideas floating around, on top of the mainstream pub meets and shows.
So there will be hopefully lots going on next year. So if you don't like the idea of a show, come to a pub meet!

The Police Gala is something I'd like to do, DB.
My main focus will be the pub meets, as well as a couple of shows I attended last year.

I will have some big boots to fill, as Ian was a great organiser. However, I'm willing to give it a go.

Darren

congrats on becoming the figure head

big boots to fill as you know

I only ever get to East Angular to visit Marham which is carved in stone "Bill go to Marham each Track day"

so am unlikely to meet up often but as this is a lively and fun place to be I often come along for a nostalgic visit

well done and thanks for taking it on, organisers in any club get praise and stick in unreasonable measure

cheers

;-)

I'll butt out now
