I know its Winter and all that, but it would appear that we are down to around 3 regular poster's on here at present. It really is as dead as a graveyard on here. tumbleweed

Numbers for everything seem to be bad to really poor.

Christmas meal numbers just over half of last year.
Comtec visit only a success because of tankermans other clubs making up the numbers.
The karting thread seems to have only 3-4 people so far.

Really can't understand what's changed ? Anyone any thoughts ? Idea's to get things moving again ?

I know that some will blame the current 'credit crunch', but surely that can't be blamed totally.

Agree, all the threads seem to be very quiet generally.
We are just living in a very negative world at the moment, everytime you turn TV on, pick up a newspaper etc, its just full of doom and gloom, and to some degree i think this filters through to people`s mindset, this together with the crap weather and anti motoring bullst from the government makes it difficult sometimes to keep positive.
Whats the answer? don`t know really, get out there and do some driving went out yesterday in the Griff, roof off and came back feeling much betterbiggrin
Now going back to the depressed state, as still noy got my Saggy back, and looking like it might be the new year before i get it back, as diagnosis is proving to be frustrating to say the leastbanghead
Roll on some sunny and dry weatheryes

Hi Ian

I'd have loved to make the Comtec visit but can't get home in time for evening events. Same thing with the karting. Would take a day off if I could but am very busy at the moment. Things might quieten down in the new year but I'm not banking on it.

Am looking forward to the Christmas meal next weekend - see you then.

I agree, too numbers are down, so - as Ian suggests - let's find out, also from some less regular posters, perhaps, what can be done to improve things.

Is it purely a case of timing of events?
Maybe its distances of some events, or even the type of events?

It's a bit of a cliche, but the trouble is you can't please everyone.
But, I suspect S6 ROR may have hit the nail on the head with his first comment yes

However Nigel, with your Sag away, at least you've got another mod of transport.

After the Comtec evening, I used my car on the Friday evening, and a loud knocking from the rear made itself apparent. Took it over to my Merc Specialist again, and it was decided the car might not make it back home without something going pop! It's a suspected wheel bearing, dive shaft or the diff! Consequently, it could be another 2 weeks away. frown
And because it was a short notice drop off, they don't have a courtesy car available, so I'm stranded at home, with the parents away and 3 car in the garage - none of which I can drive! rolleyeshehe

I can only dream cloud9

The may have a courtesy car for me in the middle of this week, but I'm going to beg and plead with the parents for insurance on the Range Rover, again hehe

Whatever it takes, I'll make sure I'm at the Christmas meal, though biggrin

Sorry to hear that Nigel. That must put a real downer on the start of the ownership.

That sounds like it could be expensive Darren ! Hope you get sorted with some form of transport this week, if not I,m sure someone could possibly sort you out a lift.

Wow! I didn't expect any offers of lifts, and now there's 2 on the table! Thanks Ian and Hannah! thumbup

Hopefully it won't come to that, and I can get there under my own steam. But I dare say I'll mention whether or not I require the uptake of your offers, in that thread, or this one. Thanks again, guys smile

scratchchin BUT....If there's an AMV8, I'll simply HAVE to steal the DB9 tongue outhehe

Well guys, I'm still about. I feel a bit of an imposter though, not having a "proper" car to attend meets in!

As for the credit crunch. All I can say is, what credit crunch? I've never been so busy. All my energies are focused on work at the moment. This means working a fair few weekends just in case it all goes pear shape next year.

It's a late start for me this morning (which is why I find myself with time to post on here). For the first time in a while I am only working 20 miles from home. Normally it's at least 100 miles.

I was not planning on replacing the Ultima for at least another 18 months. However, I may have been seduced into buying something else by next spring. Can't say any more at the moment incase it never happens but, if it does you can book me into Kimbolton, Stamford, lavenham and any meets on the North Norfolk coast smile
