PHEA Christmas meal, Sunday 14th Dec.
Discussion
I know it’s not near Christmas yet, but these things need to be arranged!
Anyway, we have a booking at The Rose & Crown, Stanton on Sunday 14th December. I have given a provisional number of 30 people, although this can be altered as necessary. Meal is booked for 1.00pm, so aim to arrive 12.30pm. I understand that there is a large car park to the rear of the pub.
Location map here
The menu is here :
I will need the following from those wishing to attend :
(1) : Names of those attending.
(2) : Choices for each person from the menu.
(3) : A £5.00 deposit per person sent to me, not the pub.
For my address to send the deposit cheque too, please email me via my profile and I will send the details back to you.
I need to get the deposit paid to the pub by Friday 5th December, so I will need all deposits to me by Wed 3rd December latest.
Hope this gives you all the info you need. Any questions ask away.

Can't seem to find a price for a 3-course meal including carvery at lunchtime...
Also note the carvery needs 30 people so hopefully we'll get that many.
We have been told £14.50-two courses, £18.50-3 courses, although I see what you mean John. It does state 'plated courses not carvery'. I will double check on this. Also note the carvery needs 30 people so hopefully we'll get that many.
With regard to the 30 min for carvery, this will be in the whole resturant not just our group.

I'd suggest that a plated meal would cost more, due to the extra labour involved. So if a plated meal is £18.50, I'd suggest a serve-yourself carvery is about £17.50... ? S6 ROR said:
Its perhaps that £1 surcharge for the plate that is putting people off
I guess you could bring your own plate...? Or maybe they'd charge plateage? No but seriously folks, we had an excellent Christmas Scoff last year with 30-40 people and so I do recommend you come along for the jolly - we hope to see the 'usual suspects' and of course new faces are very welcome too.
Just received this email back from Tom the Landlord, which I hop enow clarifies the situation regarding the menu and prices.

Hi Ian
The plated option refers to groups booking when the carvery is not operational and therefore instead of using the carvery we send a plated Xmas dinner from the kitchen.
I can confirm though that as you are booked on a Sunday the carvery will be fully operational.
Hope that makes sense.
Kind Regards

Only have 16 on the list for this so far. Where's everyone gone.
Of those 16, I still require food choices from 7 of you and a deposit from 12 of you. I know that some of you may be sorting this out with me at the meet on the 23rd, but just a gently reminder for those not attending this.
Still loads of space for anyone wanting to attend. I have provisionally booked for 30 This was based on last years attendance which was neare 40, so clearly we are going to be a long way short of that.

Just a quick update for you all. I now have 21 people booked on my list, but still room for some more if there are any late takers. Having had a meal at the venue yesterday I can confirm that you will not go hungry !
I still require food choices from the following :
