I've been quietly eyeing up other cars for the last couple of months, and after the Pug GTi6 bust its cambelt I decided that it was time to change.

I had been secretly hankering after a convertible. We had an Elise for three years and after owning one, everything else gets compared to it. Nothing since I sold it has given the feel that comes from driving one. The 6 was probably the closest believe it or not. I owned a clio V6, tried an S2000, Z3M, MR2, Evo.

Nothing gave what I was after so I've gone back down the same road again and bought a VX.

Kneel down at the altar of mahoosive rear wings

Spent a couple of days doing odd jobs and washing/polishing/waxing it. Had to replace a fog light which was a top laugh, especially as the splitter had to be unbolted and wedged away to get to the fog light bracket bolts :rolleyes

We managed to get rained on with the roof off on the second day of ownership, which required an emergency petrol stop on the A12, and all I'm going to say is 101p per liter for BP ultimte, robbing bas**rds.

Had the first proper spirited drive today and I'm really chuffed with it, apart from nearly dying on the first tight corner. Cold brakes and abs caused a slight clenching. Compared to the S1 elise I had, it's amazing how much more pull there is through the range. Steering is alot heavier than the elise and not quite as direct but as close as anything else will come. Ride is good and very planted. And Harnesses are very cool but a major ball ache to use

Roll on the rest of summer. The 6 months with the Pug have been mixed, it's been a fun car to drive but things going wrong and needing to be fixed soon became a chore. Now it's all fixed it'll probaly give trouble free motoring for the next couple of years, it better had or the crazy Turks that have bought it will probably come after me with their filleting knives!!

Hope to see some of you out and about again and hopefully try to get to some of the meets/events

Very, Very nice.

I used to have a silver turbo, sold it about 8 months ago to buy a house. Like you say, nothing comes close to it handling wise, I'm now saving the pennies hoping to get another on in the next few years.

Love the TMS rear wing. Theres quite a bit of carbon on the car isn't there! bow

Just fantastic.

Well done, nothing like the first few drives in a new car. Scuse me asking but what wheels do you have fitted, they look rather tasty.

Nice VX, Karl!

Glad to see she'll be as easy to spot as the Clio V6 hehe

Look forward to seeing her in the metal some day

Indeed it is Lowestoft, I was going to go for an arty shot infront of the wind turbine but there was a huge lorry parked with the driver asleep, inconsiderate git

The previous owner spent a shed load on tuning bits. I have a bill from TMS totalling about 14k

It's got itg induction, full milltek exhaust, gas flowed, ported head and poncy cams. Full AP brakes conversion, Nitron suspension, OZ lightweight wheels interior retrim with harnesses and lots of carbon fibre. I think it has done a few track days but was mainly used for hacking up and down the country on the motorways.

There are a few little jobs that need doing but nothing much. We're off to Marham for the track day so that should be a good baptising for it

See you there! I'll be the one dribbling all over the carbon, in a slightly demented fashion!

Not a great frequenter but I have just popped on to stick my VXT in the classifieds and thought I take a quick look at what was going on in the local forum. Nice to see there is another local VX. I dont often see them in EA but when I do.... more often than not I'm in the wrong car and look like a c*ck flashing at a VX in the oil burner.

enjoy

There are not many cars that can carry an enormous spoiler like that, but I think it looks great! I think it is the black wheels that mean it is not so in your face.

Any other mods under the skin?
