Bentley Boys meeting
Discussion
didn't get to see you there David, unless you were in another car?
cracking get together, reminds me of car shows from 30 years ago, with predominantly vintage/pre war cars there, with an interesting smattering of moderns (post was stuff!)
there was a very interesting selection of cars, from the great british makes (sunbeam, bentley, alvis, lagonda, daimler, humber, crossley, talbot, frazer nash, morgan, austin, vauxhall), and a great selection of cars from europe and further afield, (lacia lambda, delage DI, a very nice sigma cycle car, salmson, amilcar, buggatti, OM, darracq and a very nice lamborghini 400gt, plus a couple of american vintage cars).
there was a brilliant, casual atmosphere, with people just wandering round chatting, a great bar-b-que, and a nice pint of southwolds finest!
definately one to go to again, i think for a get together of its size, you'd be hard pressed to find a better selection of vintage cars at any gathering!

Yes I was there Eccles, but sadly my Bayliss Thomas decided that today (yesterday) was a good time to play up. Would'nt start.Re-commishening gremlins still cropping up! I think either timing or contact breakers being at fault. So I bekon my Austin into service, reliable old Mr Crusty. You may have noticed him repsledant in burgandy over black?
But what an meeting, stunning array of fantastic cars and drivers/passengers alike. Roll on next year, sorry to miss you.
I watched the Sigma make its exit, fine car and driver to match, fantastic sight and sound, and finished in yellow paint like it would'nt stand out in any other colour!!

aaah i did see you then David. you were giving a chap a right listening to...he seemed to go on for hours! i did a complete circuit of the field, and he was still there talking 19 to the dozen when i came passed again. (you were talking about front wings or something, the other chap was also muttering about his days as a student in cardiff, and i swear i heard him mention a friend of mine Ted Purcell, but i didn't want to interrupt ) if its any consolation he did the same to one of the Bentley drivers as well.
loved the trunk on the back of your car as well, nice to see one with all the period labels on.
yup, it was a cracking little show, and i'll definately be going next year as well.
