Did anyone go to this rather awful looking event at Langley School today? The only reason I ask is that I saw loads of rather interesting classics driving there. I didn't go because I hate the place, just wondered if anyone did, was it any good?

hehe

Never thought I'd read about my old school in PHEA

Daffodil Day was always appauling. It went down hill after they did away with the game "Smash the Crockery"

In my last couple of years there, they introduced a classic car display.

Whats it like? In my opinion its looks like a crummy tin-pot public school with ideas above it's station. Any part of that correct?

Pretty much hit the nail on the head!

I mean christ! They get £2,500 per student, per term, yet they still decide they need more money, with some cheap tatty display/show! rolleyes
One year BBC Look East went there, because non of the Daffodils had flowered hehe

Still a new headmaster has taken over this year. I don't know him, but hopefully they'll be able to sort out the school....its long way away from Gresham's standards, from what I've seen of that school.

Having said that, its a good school, mind. Good teacher/student ratio and they have a waiting list, so they must be doing something right!

You had left for two years before I joined!

I don't think you would know him, but my older brother (Peter Gee) started there in 1994....he would have been one of those annoying little kids in upper first form, at the time.

Btw, I was Mancroft evil

ETA: Dad bought me my car paperbag hehe

yes - sorry to say I started there when it was boys only! girls came (ahem) in my 4th year
I left in summer 94 -- was briefly suspended for having my hair too long in U6 (wow) other than that I passed thru pretty uneventfully
haven't been back for years -- who was mancroft housemaster at that time?

I can't remember who it was went I first joined, but for the majority of my time there, Wendy Lloyd (PE Teacher) was head of Mancroft.
Ralf Holmes was always Beachump's head, Peter Ogden (Art) for Crome and - originally - Mr. Shooter (Music) for St Giles

Hey, Darren. Aren't you supposed to be on holiday??

If I was in the Maldives, I would be sitting on the beach with a cold beer, not sitting in front of a pc!

I am, but the sun goes down about by about 5, 6 o'clock

The evening is spent loading the days pics up onto my Facebook account, having dinner and sitting on the terrace, listening to the crashing waves, while posting on PH cloud9

Yesterday's sunset, as viewed from my terrace.....

....and this evening's (trying to be "arty", but fooling no-one)

Enjoy the days, chill in the evenings! cool
