Today out in my B.T. I managed to hit 65mph !

Unfortunately it was as a consequence of the speedo' breaking up inside rather than an actual speed I had attained :weep:

So with the other gremlins now sorted a new one crops up. Somebody recently told me of a local company that repairs such things but I'm darned if I can remember who that company is. Any offers.

For such a venerable motor, then Vintage Restorations is probably the best place to go - I know they aren't local but they do it all by mail, and there isn't much they can't do with any instrument. Their website isn't up to much, but they operate best by talking direct, and the site has all the contact details. I've used them on a number of occasions in the past and they really do a first rate job, and as well as fixing the problem and refurbishing the insides, they will follow what you want - i.e. if you want the face restored, they'll restore it, but if you don't they will leave it as it is. In similar vein, the odometer reading will be left as it is or reset as you prefer, and so on.

Thank you for the links, thats one of the great things about Ph'ers, the exchange of opinion and finding those links, Great.

I also requested for same info in 'Yesterdays Heroes' my gut feeling is to go with Vintage Restorations for the work, personal recommendation is priceless. The speedo' is extremely rare and hence valuable being a Cowes, it was mentioned to me that 'in 30 years of autojumbel's I have never came across one'. Valuble in the sense that it would'nt be right to fit an alternative manufacturer of a speedo'.
