yes bounce Although the one which passed me was going round a corner, so it wasn't particularly fast or noisy. However, hopefully sometime I'll see one being caned round a track.

I can't remember the plate, but 04 seems more familiar than 54. I think it could well have been that one.

Steve, my old school bus drivers used to hammer it!

I've got a friend who is a bus driver, and used to drive a school bus - some of the stuff he used to get up to would shock you - even more so when you consider he drive those huge (50 - seater??) coaches hehe

yes I think the "basic" engine is a 5.7 litre Chevy V8, but they do up to 6.3 V8 IIRC

I've been out and about all week, and mostly in the Pie and Piston when I've been online. I should really check this forum more often. I'm doing ok thank you, how is your good self? Managed to find a test date yet?

Very nice. I've got a thing for yank muscle cars and engines. No wonder it can do 0-100-0 in just over 9s. That must churn out quite a few horses! yikes

I'm doing pretty good myself, thanks.

Heading away on holiday with the family in April - 2 weeks of sun, sand and sea, so looking forward to that ALOT!

As for test dates, I have one set, my made decision not to tell anyone the exact date, in case I fail Suffice to say its sometime in May hehe

How are the GCSEs? Coming up to 5th Form exams soon, eh?

Yeah, I've got my exams a little after Easter. yikes

The revision is going ok. It's just a little boring and it's really easy to lose concentration and start pissing around. Which isn't a great scenario...

Lots of work to do over the holidays. I'm quite lucky, though, cos I broke up on Friday. I get a week more than most people. I'm so grateful!

Good luck with the test. Not that you'll need it, you'll beast it. yes May is the best month as well, so there's another good omen!

That must have a fantastic power:weight ratio. Does it weigh less than a tonne? There's not much of it. It must be roughly 1000bhp/tonne...scratchchin

..."Shit off a shovel" springs to mind!

I need to immerse myself in cars. I wonder if my dad's ordered the PistonFest tickets yet...he'd better do it soon.

Lots of work? Coursework deadlines looming, then? Ah how I don't miss that!
I remember a foolish classmate leaving his Geography coursework very last minute.....he actually did it on the bus to school the day of the deadline rolleyes Its safe for you to assume he ended up getting a very low mark as a consquence!

As for distractions, I guess trawling through the P&P doesn't help the situation

I return the good luck sentiments, but for your exams! I'm sure you'll do absolutely fine! Although I remember what it was like for me back in 2001!

Heading to PF, then?

I should be heading there too, possibly with 2 non-PHers - I believe one of them is one of PH's many lurkers though!
Maybe see you there!

Thankfuly, all my real coursework's already out of the way, but I've got a lot of art to do over the holidays. Doesn't really count, though. hehe

No, the P+P is actually a huge piece of bad luck! My parents gave me the net in my room as a revision and learning tool...that SO backfired!

Thanks for the good luck. It should all go fine, but I don't want to tempt fate.

Yeah, I'll be at PF, if my dad actually shifts his arse and buys the tickets. I can't wait. It was fantastic last year, but I was too shy to meet anyone. Not this year! I'll certainly see you there, if all goes well. I won't be too hard to spot, I'll be the kid in the corner with his parents, drinking orange juice.

Or the guy getting pissed with his cousin and dancing like a mentalist! hehe

Well if I'm there I should be along in the Merc and get it stickered up!

I was there only for the day last year, with the PHEA crew. It wasn't all that exciting just turning up for the day, so I will see what its like for the whole weekend thumbup

What was it like throughout the weekend, last year?

The weekend was fantastic. I got there early Saturday afternoon, set up the tent and just wandered round. I met a really nice guy called Alan Pearce who was about to race in his Caterham (which he let me sit it ), and I had a chat with him. Then I watched a bit of racing and looked round the cars. There were some lovely cars there. Great to see so many TVRs and happy owners. Some poor guy had had his VX220 keyed, which was was a less enjoyable sight.

On Sunday night there was a live band (my cousin's actually), and the party was brilliant. It took a while to warm up, but everyone started dancing as they drank more! The music probably lasted from 8 til midnight, so the guitarists' fingers must've been pretty sore by the end! There was also the 24hour Citroen 2CV race. We thought it would be quite loud, but there's a bank between the car park and the track, and we didn't lose any sleep because of it.

Monday was pretty much more racing, looking round the cars and chatting to owners. To be honest, it would probably be even better if you actually go and meet some new people or there were people there who you already knew. This was where I went wrong last year. I'll be looking to put some names to faces this time though.

The site is fantastic, and there's a good restaurant which serves a really nice English breakfast. I would suggest bringing a camping stove for the evenings, though, cos it shuts quite early. We were caught out the first night and had to go and get a take-away. It was Chinese, so it was probably a good thing! There are also a couple of towns nearby where you can get fish and chips, and there was a massive Tesco quite close as well.

Hopefully the weather will be better this time. It was cold and wet last year.

Argh, this wait is infuriating! bounce

Munch Machine? Thats a new one! hehe

I agree on the keyers front....bloody bastards!

Campervan would be ideal, but I can see me and my friends in tent, too.

As for people skills.....walk up to a complete stranger, stick your hand out and say "Hi I'm Lightningghost aka Lucien". Worked for me in past thumbup
