Videos for you, Harley
Discussion
Well guys, my family are getting a new car.
They are replacing the Land Rover Freelander V6 - some of you may remember I bought it along to a pub meet last year.
And they are getting a Range Rover Sport 4.2 Supercharged V8
Can't wait to get my hands on her!
I remember Harley commented on the sound of the car, so for just for you Harley, I've put some videos on PH TV (you may have to download them before viewing)
One video got a slating from PetrolTed, (HERE) so be thankful

There is a 4th video, so hopefully that'll be posted on PH soon

Take no notice mate,i would have thought anyone with even half a petrol head would appreciate the sound of a screaming v6,even coming from a Freelander!
Hope the person driving was sporting the relevant red 'L's
Bring on the Range Rover vids

I don't usually treat the cars to a thrashing on a cold start......I'm at the "don't care" stage, as it will be gone within the next week

Then my statement still stands
True!

Owwwww we could start a rant about urban 4x4's here..
ahhhhhhh so hard to resist..............
Nope cant hold it in!
I have no problem with people who need 4 wheel drive and use it. e.g. live in middle of nowhere and drive a 90 or 110 etc
Even a Discovery maybe, but anything above that, im sorry but hate with a passion. There should be a reduction on the £300 for those who have a genuine need and satisfy it with a suitable vehicle. And a double for anyone who doesnt need it. Forget this "safety" they are the most dangerous things on the road! They blind you with high headlights, and if one where to go up the back of you (in small normal car) at speed i dread the thought.
Sorry but just the way i see it
/<Rant>

We do live in the middle of nowhere
The government can tax 4x4 (and other "gas guzzling" car) owners as much as they are, but its not going to stop people buying them. I mean if your spending £30k+ (which most of these 4x4s are when new or nearly new), whats £900-1200 for the 3 years of motoring, which is the length of time the majority of people will keep their car.
Apparently the fashion "fad" of everyone wanting a large 4x4 in the city, is passing and I've heard the scene is set for large luxury saloons to be the next "in" thing.
And all this talk of "green taxes" is absolute bol*ocks anyway....the earth is still heating up from the last ice age.
I remember I had a greenpeace woman collar me in Nottingham a couple of years back. She insisted on talking to me, despite interupting me playing on my phone, and telling her I wasn't interested at all.
Unlike the usual me, I was in a "can't be arse, leave me alone" mood, so when she asked me:
"Don't you care about the planet", I looked straight her and told her "I drive a gas guzzling Merc, my parents have a petrol V6 4x4 and they also drive a gas guzzling V8 Merc, so NO!" and I walked away.
Like I say not the usual me
We recycle and thats about as green as we get. I can't say we're green; everything we have has been financed by my Dad's job in the oil industry.

Having seen the first Vid, I have to admit, I decided I didn't want to watch any more. I can't see how anyone who appreciates a fine engine can treat it like that. I hope I never have to buy a car that you've had your hands on.
Write out 100 times;
I must not thrash a cold engine. I must learn to be a petrolhead.

Why is everyone saying they don't wanna buy a car from me? I'm not selling it to anyone here - the vids aren't an advert! They're a bit of thrashing around in a car we're about to get rid of - they're just purely for the sound of the engine, and mainly for Harley, who I know liked the sound.
So who cares?!
Not that I need to explain myself, but the vids are not a typical example of how the car is used daily, and not the typical manner in which I treat my cars!
